Create a Short Film with the Nokia N8, Win Zero Gravity Experience

Nokia just launched a competition aspiring filmmakers are going to love. The Nokia N8 Producers contest asks you to submit an incredible short video no longer than 3 minutes by January 31st, 2011. It has to be shot on the N8. Six judges will select 8 winners of Zero Gravity experience. Each winner can pick a friend to go along.

Nokia Social Updated to 1.2

Check the software updater on your Nokia N8 or C7 because an update for the Social app just showed up, version 1.2 (163). The file is only 2545 kB. Some users are reporting performance improvements, but no major changes from the previous version. I still prefer to use Gravity as my social network client.

MeeGo Will Not Replace Symbian for Business Users

Nokia VP, Work & Life Solution Marketing Ilari Nurmi told ZDnet UK on Tuesday that MeeGo will not be marketed at business users as a replacement OS for Symbian. They will stick with Symbian as its main business-phone platform even when MeeGo is released. “It’s very important to note that Symbian is the primary platform today and will also be the primary platform in the future,” Nurmi said. Does that mean no Meego Eseries device?

Nokia Explains ClearBlack Display on Video

Nokia just published a 90 second video on YouTube showing how great ClearBlack displays are. I have to admit it’s a cool marketing video that delivers the message. ClearBlack ensures blacker blacks, whiter whites, brighter colors, zero reflection, and complete visibility even when outdoors on a sunny day. You can see it for yourself when the Nokia E7 and C6-01 become available.
