T-Mobile Nokia Astound Hands-on at CTIA

Nokia introduced the Nokia C7 as the Nokia Astound for T-mobile tonight at a press dinner event. It’s the same hardware, but with the updated firmware that features portrait QWERTY keyboard and a new browser. I’m sure a lot of current Symbian^3 owners are mad about this. The Astound will be available on April 6th for $79.99. Go watch the video.

Nokia Astound

The Nokia Astound is the first T-Mobile phone to deliver an 8 megapixel camera. Offering value without compromise, the Nokia Astound will be available exclusively from T-Mobile USA beginning April 6th.

    in the latest follow-up from the nokia discussion boards, nokia scheduled PR 2.0 for “SUMMER” and PR 1.2 is being rolled out in a day or two for all unbranded product codes. if they’re ready with pr 2.0 on this astound then why cant they release it for other s^3 devices also by the apr 8th release of the astound ??

    according to nokia conversations (official blog) astound will come with new browser and portrait qwerty and updates for other devices will follow soon.
    i hope with soon, they mean really soon. (but unfortunately no sooner than apr 6th)

    Is it just me or do others think they could present the phone and its features better than most Nokia employees seem to?

    I mean he should have shown that he has like 10 programs running in the background first and but still the operation of the phone was smooth. He should have left the music playing in the background and just adjusted the volume. etc. to show that the other things will keep running on the background whatever you do.

    No disrespect, but does Nokia practice these product demos with the staff beforehand at all?

    too little, too late. have already gone over to the android world. blows the socks off symbian. pls nokia, hurry up to wphone7; i always liked your hardware, and hopefully you’ll drag ms into the space age with apps that compete with android. but for now, it’s android for me.

       It’s important to make the most of it when you have a smartphone. Download cool apps, play games, read, anything. Ovi store brings everything for it. I’m using mbooks for e-reader, I like the way it works on c7. So, just enjoy the phone!
