T-Mobile Nokia Astound Hands-on at CTIA
Nokia introduced the Nokia C7 as the Nokia Astound for T-mobile tonight at a press dinner event. It’s the same hardware, but with the updated firmware that features portrait QWERTY keyboard and a new browser. I’m sure a lot of current Symbian^3 owners are mad about this. The Astound will be available on April 6th for $79.99. Go watch the video.

Nokia Announcing Symbian Devices for US Carrier at CTIA?
The flyer for Nokia’s evening event at CTIA hints new Symbian phones for US carriers. It says, “We promised to sell millions more Symbian devices. Join us as we spotlight our latest solution for U.S. consumers.” Am I reading too much into this? We’ll find out on March 21st.
Nokia Tablet Design Found in US Patent, Looks Like a Bigger Nokia N8
US patent documents were published today with images of a Nokia tablet. It looks like a Nokia N8 with a 9 or 10-inch screen. We don’t know when or if this product will go public. Check it out
Nokia Party with Chris Cornell and Angry Birds at SXSW
Two nights ago at the Belmont Hotel in Austin, Nokia had special guest Chris Cornell perform in front of a big crowd. There was also a giant projection on a wall of the opposite building showing Angry Birds. Here’s a quick video from the night.

I’m typing this post at Dallas Forth Worth International Airport while I wait for my flight to Austin for SXSW. I’m going to be hanging out with some Nokia folks. I don’t know the plans yet, but this recent video that just hit YouTube could be a hint. It says something big is happening on March 12th and 15th. Take a look.
Nokia Activities at CTIA Wireless 2011
Nokia is up to something at CTIA. They haven’t sent any formal invitations yet, but an evening activity has been scheduled for March 21st. Nokia executives are expected to be there. We don’t know what’s going to happen, but I’ll make sure to show up and report back. There will also be a Nokia Lounge and several Nokia speakers at the conference.

Nokia C7 User Manual Directly Mentions T-Mobile to FCC
When I asked one of my very reliable sources to comment on the T-Mobile Nokia C7 Tiger rumor, all I got was a smiley face. Perhaps what we just discovered tonight is more helpful. The Nokia C7 recently hit the FCC and its manual directly mentions T-Mobile as the carrier not once, but twice. Take a look.
