Deal: Nokia E7 $489 at Amazon
The Nokia E7 is now available at Amazon for a lower price of $489. Coupons are unnecessary, but we’re not sure when the deal expires. This is the lowest price I’ve seen for the E7. Now might be a good time if you were considering this Symbian device.

Qualcomm just announced the keynote speakers for Uplinq 2011 conference and Stephen Elop, CEO of Nokia, will be there. According to the FAQs, page, Uplinq is a mobile wireless ecosystem conference that will be held in San Diego June 1st and 2nd. Nokia to Leave New York
The Nokia office in White Plains, New York is expected to close by the end of 2012. Sunnyvale, California will become the central site for Nokia’s North American sales and marketing operations. The White Plains office opened in 2006. I live a few minutes away and visited a couple of times to meet up with some Nokia folks. I’m a little sad the nearest Nokia office will be in a different time zone.
Video: Nokia E7 UK TV Ad
A Nokia E7 TV advertisement just went live in the UK. The main message is, “Success is what you make it.” This ad actually shows the device unlike the Nokia E7 short films I previously posted about. Video after the jump.
Review: Backbreaker Football
I’ve shared this on Twitter and Facebook but realized I haven’t mentioned it here yet. My second guest post at Ovi Daily App, was published a couple of weeks ago. I reviewed Backbreaker Football, a fun arcade-style game available at the Ovi Store for only 99 cents.
Demo: Portrait Swype Keyboard Update on Nokia Astound
The T-Mobile Nokia Astound got an update last week with the addition of Swype keyboard in portrait mode. This is currently the only Symbian^3 phone with this feature. The rest (Nokia C7, Nokia N8, Nokia E7) still only has Swype in landscape mode. I hope to see this feature in all Symbian^3 phones soon. Video after the jump.
Ovi Maps for mobile 3.07 Video Overview
New version of Ovi Maps v3.07 is now available at Beta Labs for all Symbian^3 phones. Here’s my overview using the Nokia E7. The biggest change is that they have removed the application menu to Map, Navigation, Check in and Local content. There’s now a shortcut widget on the homescreen. Video and changelog after the jump.
Don’t Fence Me In
The song, “Don’t fence me in,” from the Nokia N8 TV ad here in the US has been stuck in my head the last couple of days. It looks like Nokia USA will be using another remix of it to promote the T-Mobile Nokia Astound. You can actually be a part of it if you like.
Nokia E6 Officially Announced
Those videos that Nokia recently uploaded are no longer private. The Nokia E6 became official this morning. It’s the update for Nokia E71 and E72 users. It features a QWERTY keyboard, 2.46-inch touchscreen, 8MP full-focus camera with dual LED flash, and the Symbian Anna update.
Nokia X7 Officially Announced
The Nokia X7 is now official. We’ve seen leaked photos months ago and Three UK even uploaded their hands-on video a few days ago, but now we can finally see the official specs and features of this device. Think of it as the Nokia E7 without the slide-out keyboard.
