Bad News for Nokia, Good Deals for Consumers

It’s another bad news day for Nokia, but it might not be too bad for consumers. Nokia reported that they have taken price actions on its current smartphone portfolio so I immediately checked Amazon for the latest prices. I found out that the blue Nokia E7 and N8 are now available for $459 and $349. Those are at least $200 off the original prices!

The press release from Nokia today explained that multiple factors are negatively impacting their Devices & Services business. They now expect Devices & Services net sales to be substantially below its previously expected range for the second quarter 2011. The main cause is the lower than previously expected average selling prices and mobile device volumes.

I feel bad that Nokia isn’t doing too well, but consumers end up with very capable devices that are now a little more affordable. Are these price reductions tempting enough for you?

These prices are temping, but I just got a new T-Mobile android phone and i’m sure i’ll want the first Nokia Windows phone later this year.

    Nokia is died.
Those phones after 200$ off is still overpriced.
Any ecosystem, any application, any integration and finally any good future.
We shouldn’t touch a dead people, sorry companies

overpiriced? do you know the value for money? nokia is still unsurpassed on that front you faggot.just compare what you get with others like HTC lol

Personally, when people call a phone I like overpriced, I insult their sexuality. How about you?

Swapping back from Apple device to nokia cause the superior quality of the radio and gps side of those devices. Seems that many users of A devices “approve” the bad quality of the device – for some strange reason. The price cut makes the switch happen even faster.

I’m sure with windows phone nokia will strike back and retain it’s supremacy. Symbian is just for plain type devices, not touch smartphones.

  • Salomons

Whose fault man? Nokia could only blame itself by giving us amazing phone but with shitty uggly Symbian OS inside

Sad, but bad menagement of nokia, they shall not think of consumers as a honey lechers…there is more fun this days on other platforms than it’s left symbian for new win7, i see lot of nokia hackers and users living for droids, and nokia is not watching for it’s costumers instead gathering money and experiments from them.

What the hell did they expect? They annouce that their main platform is dead and they are switching for a new one but there won’t be anything available for almost a year. And competition is nipping them at the heel more than ever. Of course sales are going to drop like a rock.
