Gurgaon Police Equipped With Nokia E5 to Capture Traffic Violations

Nokia India and the Gurgaon Traffic Police have partnered up to launch a traffic management project called 3rdEYE in the city. A software called Tselina will be integrated with Nokia E5 devices to capture photo evidence of traffic violations in Gurgaon. Up to 300 traffic police personnel stationed at different locations in the city will be equipped with the Nokia E5.

Everyone Knows You're Not Supposed To...

The project is aimed at promoting safe and responsible driving in Gurgaon. The photographs will be tagged with a time stamp and geo-coordinates, and uploaded on the server to produce a permanent record of the violation. The police or public can retrieve the photographs at a later stage and use them as evidence to penalize offenders.

Fifty traffic marshals have already been given a Nokia E5 each according to Indian Express. The project aims to leverage technology as an enabler to curb traffic disruption in the city. The Nokia E5 is one of Nokia’s most successful smartphones in India. Do you want this project in your city?
