Nokia is Going All-In with Windows Phone in North America
Nokia is going to stop selling Symbian and S40 phones in North America when they launch their first Windows Phone devices. Chris Weber, Nokia USA President told AllThingsD the company will also focus exclusively on sales through traditional wireless carriers. That practically means subsidized high-end Nokia devices!

Nokia Stock Hits New Low
Nokia’s stock price has reached a new lowest point in the past 52 weeks. At the time of publish, the NOK price was USD $5.10. Some investors take this as a sign — if it has reached a 52-week low, this may suggest that it’s undervalued and ripe for buying, whereas a 52-week high could signify that it’s overvalued.
Nokia Sues Shanghai Firm on Lens Cover Patent
Nokia is suing Shanghai Huaqin Telecom Technology Co Ltd, one of China’s top cellphone design companies, for infringing its patented method of covering the lens when the phone is not in use. Nokia wants the Shanghai company to stop producing and selling the offending products. Nokia also demands 10 million yuan (US $1.55 million) as compensation.
Nokia Introduces Voice Texting for Upcoming Windows Phone Devices
Chris Weber, president of Nokia USA, demonstrated a voice recognition technology to a crowd at the Center for Automotive Research’s Management Briefing Seminars earlier today. It will be introduced in their upcoming Windows Phone devices, allowing users to receive and send text messages verbally. It’s not clear whether he used an actual Nokia Windows Phone device for demonstration.
