Nokia Windows Phones Will Fail With Uninformed Retailers

You know everything about about current and upcoming smartphones. You know the specs, the OS, release dates, and seen videos of these devices many months ago before getting your hands on them at retail stores. The “normal” people are different. They’ll rely on retailers to recommend their phones. Uninformed sellers could be trouble for Windows Phone, as explained by a recent Business Insider (BI) article.

Ovi Store Site Logo Removed, Getting Ready for Nokia Store

Back in May, we told you that Nokia was removing the word “Ovi” by the end of 2012. If you go to the Ovi Store website right now, you may notice the Ovi logo was just replaced with Nokia’s logo. The site title was also renamed, “Nokia Store.” We’re not sure when the rebranding will be complete, but I sure like hearing Nokia Store better than Ovi Store.

High Demand for Nokia N9 in Finland

The official Finnish Nokia blog reported today that all available pre-orders for the 64GB version of the Nokia N9 have already been reserved at the Nokia Flagship Store. The 16GB model is now the only option left. Pre-orders started just three days ago! Hey Nokia, maybe you can change your mind and release this phone in more countries?

Scoble Thinks the Nokia N9 is Damn Nice

The Scobleizer was walking through San Francisco Airport and then ran into Reno Marioni, director of global social partnerships at Nokia. Scoble said Marioni had a secret device in his briefcase but wouldn’t show it to him. Scoble did end up looking at a Nokia N9, which he thought was, “damn nice.”

Prisoners Think the iPhone is Too Big

A prison guard at Folsom told Boing Boing co-editor Xeni Jardin that the iPhone isn’t the preferred cellphone to smuggle in. According to the guard, the iPhone “takes too much real estate.” A commenter thought of a couple of Nokia phones that might have more efficient use of smuggling space.

The Favourite Apps widget extends the default shortcut widget by providing total of 15 spots for your favorite applications. The default widget only gives users 4 shortcuts.
