Nokia Lumia 800 Battery Fix Expected on January 18th
If you’re experiencing poor battery life for the Nokia Lumia 800, a firmware update releasing on January 18th will fix the problem. The current issue on certain devices is that the phone can only see less than 1000mAh battery capacity instead of the full 1500mAh. The date comes from memo received by 3 Italy. Customers who do not want to wait can immediately get a replacement.

Here’s another awesome application for the Nokia Lumia 800 and other Windows Phone devices. Skyscanner allows users to search millions of routes on over 1000 airlines to find the cheapest flights. The app also lets users track prices of selected flights with the Live Tile. You pin flights to the start screen and the prices automatically update every hour. Video demo after the jump.

I received an email from Nokia Connects with an interesting attachment. It says Happy Holidays and there’s an image of a Nokia phone with the letter N displayed on the screen. It looks like we have some kind of clue or game here because others got different letters and phones in their emails. Let’s collect them here and solve this puzzle together!
Countdown to Nokia’s Press Conference at 2012 International CES
Nokia is holding a press conference during the 2012 International CES. It is scheduled for January 9th at 3PM PST. The press invitation does not give many details, but you can bet it’ll be about Windows Phone devices. Mark it down in your calendars. I’m going to show up early and sit in the front row.

Are you experiencing problems with the Nokia Lumia 800 battery? Nokia just confirmed that while the battery itself is fine, a software problem on certain variants is limiting the phone’s ability to access the full battery capacity. A software update in early 2012 will fix affected devices, but Nokia can arrange for a replacement phone if you cannot wait.

Here’s a demo of yapf for Windows Phone shown on a Nokia Lumia 800. How do you say it? yapf is a point-of-interest finder. You can use Google as the search engine. Users who don’t like Bing will like this app, but the new version 2.0 now also gives you the option to choose either one.
Nokia Lumia 800 Survives Wall-Drag and Multiple Drop Tests
I’m afraid to try these tests. Joanne-Marie from Singtel, the largest mobile operator in Singapore, drags a magenta Nokia Lumia 800 against a wall and asks several people to drop the device. Thankfully, the Lumia 800 still works and the Gorilla Glass display did not break.
