Nokia EVP of Design Hints Wireless Charging for Future Nokia Lumia Devices

In an interview with The Guardian, Nokia’s Executive Vice President of Design, Marko Ahtisaari, hints that Nokia is considering devices with wireless charging. This system already exists in products such as the Palm Pre and the HP Touchpad, but I definitely would love to see it on Nokia devices.

Nokia Lumia 900 Heading to Rogers Canada in May

Several sources told MobileSyrup that the Nokia Lumia 900 will be heading to Canadian carrier Rogers in May. There hasn’t been a Windows Phone 7 device in Canada since October 2010, but Nokia’s Lumia devices will soon make it there. The Nokia Lumia 710 is also expected to launch with Rogers while TELUS will be releasing the Nokia Lumia 800 soon.

Microsoft Paid Nokia $250M Last Quarter For Adopting Windows Phone, Billions More to Come

Nokia’s fourth quarter earnings was published earlier today. Here’s an interesting tidbit: Microsoft sent Nokia $250 million. According to Computer World, it was payment for Nokia to adopt Windows Phone. It was the first of many to come, expected to measure in the billions of US dollars.

AT&T To Sell the Nokia Lumia 900 for $99, March 18th

AT&T and Nokia are planning to launch the Nokia Lumia 900 on March 18th with an insane price tag. According to BGR, this flagship smartphone will only be $99.99 on a two-year contract. The phone hasn’t yet received technical acceptance, so the date and price could still change.

Nokia Lumia 710 Pricing At Rogers Canada Revealed

1.5 Billion Nokia Series 40 Phones Sold

Nokia announced on Wednesday they have sold the 1.5 billionth Series 40 phone. It was purchased by 21-year old Mayara Rodrigues in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The phone was a Nokia Asha 303.

Report: Nokia is Big in India

A report from CyberMedia Research claims 30.7 percent of the 166 million phones sold in India during the first eleven months of 2011 came from Nokia. Samsung followed with 14.9 percent and Micromax with 5 percent. Nokia was the leader in both the feature and smartphone segments.
