1.5 Billion Nokia Series 40 Phones Sold
Nokia announced on Wednesday they have sold the 1.5 billionth Series 40 phone. It was purchased by 21-year old Mayara Rodrigues in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The phone was a Nokia Asha 303.

“We are incredibly proud to reach this milestone,” said Mary McDowell, Executive Vice President for Mobile Phones at Nokia in the press release. “Having 1.5 billion Series 40 devices sold is a hard-to-reach mark, let alone one attainable in a single line of products. At a time when we are maintaining our commitment to connecting the next billion customers around the world – it is gratifying to consider how Series 40 devices have made mobile technology accessible and help continue to change people’s lives for the better.”
The Nokia Asha 303 has a 2.6″ capacitive touch screen with a QWERTY keypad. It is built with internet and social networks ease in mind. There’s a 1Ghz engine, 3G and WLAN. Here’s a hands-on video of the Nokia Asha 303 we shot from Nokia World.
