Starting February 1st, 2012, Swisscom mobile customers with the Nokia Lumia 800 can make HD Voice calls. According to the carrier, HD Voice is the new audio technology that noticeably improves speech reproduction quality on the smartphone and largely eliminates background noise, particularly when in a loud environment.
Swisscom announced that calls are automatically transmitted in HD Voice when both callers are using the UMTS network. Both customers must also be using phones that support HD Voice:
