Nokia 808 PureView Coming to USA, UPDATE: 3G for ATT & Tmo
Just as we expected, Nokia announced today the Nokia 808 PureView is going to launch in the US. Nokia Conversations says it will be unlocked and unsubsidized through Amazon USA for $699. There’s something weird about this announcement, though.

The bands for the Nokia 808 PureView coming to the US are: HSPA 850/1900/2100. For AT&T, this will be 3G. For T-Mobile, 2G. This is confusing because the global version should be able to support 3G for both T-Mobile and AT&T. Is this a typo or did Nokia purposely remove 3G support for T-Mobile?
I sent an inquiry to Nokia to verify and will update this post when they respond.
UPDATE: The Nokia 808 PureView for the US works just fine with 3G for both AT&T and T-Mobile in the United States. There was an error in the spec sheet which caused some confusion in the official announcement. A Nokia spokesperson told us their web teams will be updating the product pages with the correct specifications. Nokia Conversations also just updated their post:
We incorrectly stated that the Nokia 808 PureView would only work with T-Mobile at 2G speeds. This was incorrect and caused by an error in the spec sheet. We’re sorry about any confusion. The Nokia 808 PureView works just fine T-Mobile in the United States.
