As I’m traveling in Asia with the wife, there are apps on my Nokia Lumia 900 that have been getting a lot of usage. I’m featuring 5 of them in this video: Weatherbug, Tripadvisor, Nokia Transit beta, Currency, and Skyscanner. See how they work on the Nokia Lumia 900 in my demo video.
WeatherBug – Helps me find out if I should bring an umbrella or wear my jacket before leaving the hotel. The live tile is very handy too. Two versions appear to be at the marketplace. Make sure to get the newer one!
TripAdvisor – Helps me find places to visit around the area. I use this often to read restaurant reviews.
Nokia Transport Beta – Sometimes it’s better to take public transportation. This app shows me how to get to places using bus, train, or even boats. This app is available in Beta Labs.
XE Currency – Powered by XE, this app helps me with money conversions. When we crossed the border from Thailand to Malaysia, we needed to pay 1 MYR. We only had Thai Bahts. This app became really handy.
Skyscanner – Helps me find the lowest airfare tickets. This is very important when traveling on a budget. The interface looks great too.
What’s also great about these apps? They’re all free.
