Nokia just completed the acquisition of all technologies and intellectual property from Scalado. About 50 imaging specialists transferred to Nokia. The co-founder of Scalado is also now the head of Capture & Relive, Smart Devices at Nokia. This is going to make imaging for Nokia Lumia smartphones more interesting.

We’re not sure what camera features from Scalado we’ll see in upcoming Nokia Lumia phones, but take a look at this interesting piece of tech called Scalado Remove. Amazing!

With Scalado Remove, you point your camera and take a photo. Afterwards you can remove anyone moving around, or select your friends and remove any strangers. Crazy, huh?

“We’re excited to join Nokia at such an important time in its smartphone story,” said Sami Niemi, co-founder of Scalado and now head of Capture & Relive, Smart Devices at Nokia in the press release. “The technologies and competences we’ve developed should help move from taking photos to capturing memories and emotions.”
