Video: How to use Straight Talk with Nokia Lumia 920

The Nokia Lumia 920 in the US is locked to AT&T and if you buy it with contract, you have to pay $90 plus taxes and fees for 450 minutes, 3GB of data, and unlimited texts. If you want to save money, you can use a Straight Talk SIM card for $45 a month. It’ll work on the Nokia Lumia 920. You get unlimited texts, minutes, and data.

You’ll need to buy the AT&T compatible microSIM at walmart.com.

After you have inserted the SIM and activated the service, go to Settings – Cellular. Here are the settings you need to make it work (provided with the pamphlet they send you)

Even though the Nokia Lumia 920 is locked to AT&T, you are still able to use Straight Talk. Unfortunately, you will not be able to use LTE for faster downloads and uploads.

If you’re a Straight Talk customer, let everyone else know what you think of the service.

    Works with Red Pocket also.

Thanks. Do you know if they can use AT&T’s LTE service?

  • Dmos13

    Not at this time.

ST data is not umlimited. Any type of streaming MUST be on wi-fi.

Part of the fine print somewhere?

      • Eloren9922

Yes, it is. I think you can access ST’s TOS on its website. They can/will terminate your account for excess data use. Subject: [thenokiablog] Re: Video: How to use Straight Talk with Nokia Lumia 920

Note that ST is no longer offering ATT sim cards.

I called them about this a few days ago . They’re currently out of stock, but will have them in a couple of weeks. Walmart had them online last time I checked

From Prepaid Mobile Phone Reviews: Few days ago, PhoneNews reported that AT&T SIM cards and other AT&T related products are no longer available for purchase from TracFone, Net 10 and Straight Talk’s website.Straight Talk and Net 10 have removed both regular and micro SIM cards and reference to AT&T in its BYOD SIM program in general. The AT&T-based LG Optimus Logic and Extreme are also gone from Straight talk’s handset lineup. So, this is definitely not a case of getting out of stock of certain products. More likely, it appears that America Movil and its brands are no longer under network agreement with the AT&T. Subject: [thenokiablog] Re: Video: How to use Straight Talk with Nokia Lumia 920

Oh wow. Thanks for following up. Does this mean they’ll be canceling accounts currently using the ATT compatible cards? I’ll look into this. Thanks

BTW they’re still available at Walmart http://goo.gl/kxMGg

        • Eloren9922

Yes, people are still tracking them down at WM, Best Buy, etc. according to other blogs. Subject: [thenokiablog] Re: Video: How to use Straight Talk with Nokia Lumia 920

Before switching to ST, check their Facebook site. There are scores of complaints every day about double-billing, loss of service, dropped calls, unexplained shut-offs/terminations and other glitches too numerous to mention. You always get what you pay for.
