We now understand that the Samsung Galaxy S9 is landing a while in February, and with the launch that close it’s no real surprise that a lot of details are leaking out, lately an image seemingly showing the phone’s retail field.
Shared on Reddit, the container reveals a lot of the Galaxy S9’s specifications, including a 5.8-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display screen, IP68 dust and water resistance, an iris scanner, 4GB of RAM, cordless charging, an 8MP front-facing camera and 64GB of storage space.
Those specifications are provided by the Samsung Galaxy S8, so that they’re not especially impressive, but are in line with various other rumors.
However, several things differ, such as a corner digital camera, which, while supposedly a 12MP Dual Pixel one with optical image stabilization (once more, similar to the Galaxy S8), can also be listed as having an aperture of f/1.5-f/2.4.
Now, that could mean a dual-lens camera, but rumors suggest only the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus has two contacts, and there’s no specific reference to it being dual-lens right here anyway, so another feasible interpretation is that it’s a variable aperture camera, able to switch between f/1.5 and f/2.4 as needed.
A digital camera for almost any lighting
Used, that will probably mean f/1.5 for low-light scenes, since it makes the lens available larger to capture more light, and f/2.4 for wider level of field, enabling sharper shots in good illumination.
Samsung has really already debuted a adjustable aperture camera regarding the Chinese W2018 flip phone, which means this is a distinct possibility.
The box also mentions ‘Super Slow-mo’, which could relate to the camera’s rumored power to shoot at 1,000 frames per second.
Plus it mentions stereo speakers tuned by AKG, which sounds like a much-needed upgrade – Samsung’s flagships typically don’t have great sound through their single speakers, nevertheless the Galaxy S9 may have two speakers if this is accurate.
Therefore may also come with AKG-tuned earphones based on the field, that will be another drip we’ve heard before.
Naturally, the box it self may be a fake or perhaps a Photoshop, so we can’t depend on any of this being true just yet, however if it is then your Galaxy S9 might be well worth getting excited about for fans of photography and media.
