I did a rant about Nokia going off course. It was also the last time I wrote a post on this blog, I’ve been drawing blanks on what to write for some time. But after nearly a year has passed, what kind of changes have we seen? Lets explore what new things have been introduced and how they stand against the 2009 standard.
This is a little bit of a rant. And please don’t misunderstand this post, I love Nokia and everything they do. I love the fact that they encourage creativity, blogging and the rich community of Symbian fans everywhere. I can’t help but feel like they are falling into the same dangerous pitfalls other companies (i.e. Moto, SE, RIM) have. What can they do better?
If you haven’t already caught wind of this, Nokia Siemens are following the suit of the good folks over at Ericsson in the efforts to up the speed of Edge. By Q3 software should be able to have Edge hit speeds of around 592kbs down. They then plan to raise it as high as 1.2 mbps down, not too shabby!
Now for the moment you’ve all been waiting for, the Nokia N95 8GB NAM (also known as Nokia N95-4) is available for purchase. It’s definitely been worth the wait. First impressions: improved browser and firmware over the Nokia N95-3, faster overall OS, and an absolutely gorgeous screen. On to the gallery!
