The Nokia Lumia 928 is in the house! You know we have to show it to right away, so check out our unboxing photos. I’m currently in London for Nokia’s event tomorrow, so I had to ask the wife, who is in New York, to do the unboxing. I’m actually a little jealous she gets to play with it before me. Jump in for the photos.
The Nokia Lumia 928 was just formally announced. The Lumia 928 has been leaked several times, but it’s finally official. The Windows Phone 8 device is headed to Verizon Wireless online and in stores starting May 16 for $99.99 after $50 mail-in-rebate with a new two year customer agreement.
A great app for Nokia Lumia devices was just updated. Cinemagraph 3.05 is now available at the Windows Phone store. I think it’s exclusive to Nokia Lumia devices. This update gives you even more control with options to edit the length, loop type, and speed. There are also filter effects you can add.
Another high quality photo of the Nokia Lumia 928 is available. It shows off the device in white and black colors. Doesn’t it look thin?
The Nokia Lumia 928 is now official thanks to a two-page ad on Vanity Fair. It appears on the June 2013 issue of the magazine. Engadget was the first to spot the ad. I tried looking for a copy at my local Barnes and Noble, but they only had the May issue. Fortunately, we found a digital copy.
Twitter application for Windows Phone, Rowi, was just updated to version 3.4. There are 2 new features that I’d like to mention. You can now receive tweets instantly inside of Rowi. No need to click a refresh button or pull-down to refresh. You can now also receive push notifications instantly. No more delays in getting notified of mentions, retweets, follows, or favorites.
T-mobile’s exclusive Nokia Lumia 521 went on sale at Walmart’s online store this weekend, but it quickly became unavailable. The price was $129.99 without requiring a 2-year contract. It wasn’t supposed to go on sale until the 11th, so maybe someone at Walmart accidentally pressed a button early and quickly fixed their mistake. Or maybe they decided to sell some devices early to check interest.
Nokia hosted a small, private concert last night with artist Ed Sheeran (headliner for Taylor Swift) in New York City. I expected a launch for the rumored Nokia Lumia 928, but Nokians told me when I got there that we wouldn’t see anything new. I later found out they weren’t telling the whole truth.
