Nokia 5800 Tube Leaked Photos
July 26th, 2008 • Mark Guim • Filed Under •
Miyaliu from Digi QQ exposes plenty of pictures of the Nokia 5800 Tube, the upcoming touchscreen S60 Nokia phone which we all have seen briefly on the Dark Knight movie. 3.2 inches screen size with 640×360 resolution sounds good to me. Check out the photos and read the specifications.

Note the XpressMusic label on the Nokia 5800 Tube

Familiar S60 menu

I’m not liking this interface at all

@adonis I know! They need to step it up. I’m hoping this is a very early OS that will be much improved before the release.

I know Nokia are trying to keep the S60 experience same when they move over to the touch interface, but the S60 look itself needs an overhaul, it’s outdated. The icons on the new E71 and E66 are hideous too!

Is an SDK for a truly open S60 platform available for the Hoi Polloi?

I saw Dark Knight last night, and my jaw literally dropped when I saw the 5800.
There were a few seconds where what I assume is going to be the finished UI was shown, but I couldn’t get much out of it. The exterior looked the same as the leaked pics but it was a stunning device.
There were two other Nokia devices in the movie, one of them I couldn’t identify but the other was what appeared to be an 8800 Luna.

I think it’s a knock off from the Chinese people because in the movie it’s the XpressMedia not Music

THe 5800 as been the main reason i think the Nokia N96 as been taking so long to get it released as Nokia was trailing the other producers with it Touch Screen mobiles so they concentrated on the Tube or 5800 to get ready for the Batman film to help get it advertised,i am not into touch screen mobiles but if the 5800 is a good mobile i might buy this one, hope now the N96 can be sorted out an be made available by Nokia as they are trailing the others who have 8 mega-pixel camera mobiles an Nokias got nothing announced yet challenge these mobiles so Nokias losing Ground nowdays which seems odd to me

I think the Nokia 5800 is at least as good as the iphone. Sure there are some differences the nokia has a better camera and the iphone has the multi touch feature.
Although with the lower price I think it’s worth buying.
I also wrote about the new nokia 5800 in my blog: http://hightechz.com/?p=43
