Nokia To Be Among First Brands to Advertise on Skype
Skype is planning to launch advertising in their software this week. Nokia will be among the first few brands to participate in this channel. Skype reached 145 million average monthly connected users for the fourth quarter of 2010 and 29 million concurrent users at peak times. That’s a lot of people to market Nokia products.
Nokia N8 Ad Winner of TED Ads Worth Spreading Award
TED selected the 10 winners of their first Ads Worth Spreading competition and the Nokia N8 made it to the list! TED explained these ads were so good you chose to watch. The ad from Nokia also holds a Guinness World Record as the smallest stop-motion animated film. Haven’t seen it yet? Watch it after the jump.
Nokia N900 Ads Take Over Gizmodo
My current favorite device, the Nokia N900, is plastered all over one of our favorite tech sites today, Gizmodo. During my routine browsing, I noticed Gizmodo nicely themed with a huge collapsing rectangle ad at the header, skyscraper ad on sidebar, another giant ad in between content, as well as matching the logo and side panels.

The Nokia N900 has been spotted on several site ads taking up a lot of screenspace. To name a few, there’s Mashable, Boy Genius Report, Boing Boing, and probably many others. Just a few days ago, we saw the Nokia N900 highlighted on the Xbox dashboard. I can’t remember another Nokia device getting this much ad slots.
