Social Birthday Tile uses your Facebook account to figure out which friends of yours have birthdays this week and show it on a live tile! In the app itself, you can go and post on your friend’s wall using message templates. You can see how it works on my Nokia Lumia 800.

Super Camera lets you create a photo collage on your Windows Phone. You can combine several photos and then share to Facebook, Twitter, Sina Weibo, and Tencent Weibo. This app was shown off to me by a Windows Phone user in the Philippines. I liked it too, so I had to install it on my Nokia Lumia 800. Here’s a demo on video

Skype 1.0 Released at Windows Phone Marketplace

Finally, Skype for Windows Phone is available in the Marketplace. It helps you connect with friends and family instantly with free voice and video calls everywhere you go. The beta was available in February, but we’re happy to report the release of the final version with some new features.

Carbon for Windows Phone is finally available at the Marketplace. It’s a new Twitter app you should check out. The current version is 1.1 and it costs $1.99. They’re already on their way to release version 1.2 that supports trial mode so you can try the app for free before purchase. I shot a video this morning to show you how it looks on the Nokia Lumia 800.

Here’s another awesome application for the Nokia Lumia 800 and other Windows Phone devices. Skyscanner allows users to search millions of routes on over 1000 airlines to find the cheapest flights. The app also lets users track prices of selected flights with the Live Tile. You pin flights to the start screen and the prices automatically update every hour. Video demo after the jump.

A product manager once showed me how to edit your Xbox Live avatar on the phone, but forgot to ask the name of the app. After some digging, I found it at the Marketplace. It’s called Xbox Live Extras and it’s free. I’m showing it here on the Nokia Lumia 800.

The three main reasons I prefer Windows Phone over MeeGo (Nokia N9) and Symbian are apps, apps, and apps. I keep finding new things to install on the Nokia Lumia 800 that look great and work well. It seems I just passed a milestone. Something happens when you reach 45 items in the app list. Take look.
