The Foursquare application 4squick for Symbian was updated earlier today to 0.715. The major changes include faster startup time, public/private check-in, share to Facebook or Twitter, leaderboard, user profiles, and bug fixes. I made a video to show the new features. Check it out!
Here’s a quick look at a new Foursquare app for Symbian^3 devices. I’m using my Nokia N8 for this demo. It’s currently at version 0.650 with limited features but I see major potential. The app works fast and the UI is simple yet pretty. Take a look at the video before downloading it yourself.
If you go to m.twitter.com on the Symbian web browser, you get a different version of what the Android and iPhone users see. Kite from Pixelpipe is an app based on an HTML5 browser that allows you to have a better UI for the mobile web version of Twitter. Brett from Pixelpipe gives us a demo.
I wonder if this specific model will get a different kind of packaging. The Nokia UK shop just released an “exclusive” phone called, “Nokia E7 Blue with Apps.” From the description, it’s a blue Nokia E7 with 7 pre-installed apps: Advanced Call Manager, Monopoly Classic HD, Tetris HD, Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X. HD, Galaxy on Fire, Asphalt 5 HD, and Hero of Sparta HD.
Nokia has an official video of Nokia Drop, but I thought you might like a demo on video from an unofficial source. It’s a brand new app from Nokia Beta Labs and I like it a lot! It’s a simple and easy way to push content to your device from your web browser. You can instantly change your phone’s wallpaper, send image as a file to your phone, send URL to your phone.
We got a demo of Poynt during the announcement of T-mobile Nokia Astound at CTIA. It’s an all-in-one tool to connect you with local businesses, retailers and events while you’re on the go. You can get reviews, reservations, directions, trailers, listings, and tickets. It’s free, so go check it out.
Audioboo is now available at the Ovi Store. The app allows you to record and upload audio for your friends or family. After recording, you have options to share it on Twitter, Facebook, Posterous, Friendfeed, or Tumblr. Best of all, it’s free! Check out my demo video on the Nokia N8.
You might have heard of Pixelpipe, our favorite tool for uploading photos, videos, and other files to our favorite social sites. Today, they’ve released a completely different app that’s optimized for accessing multiple Google services. It’s currently in beta and they’re asking testers for feedback. Take a look at the quick video after the jump.
I’m happy to see my byline under an official Nokia blog today! My review for Ultimate Spider-Man: Total Mayhem was just published over at the Ovi Daily App. It’s a typical mash-buttons-until-you-beat-em-up game, but the developers at Gameloft added great visuals, sound, and extras that make it a really fun game.
