<p>We&#8217;ve been told by Nokia that the <a href="http://thenokiablog.com/2010/04/28/nokia-n8-answers-questions/" title="Nokia N8 Questions">battery on the Nokia N8 isn&#8217;t removable</a> by the user, but early photos show us that it <a href="http://thenokiablog.com/2010/05/02/nokia-n8-battery-removable/" title="Nokia N8 Removable Battery">isn&#8217;t that hard</a> to do. Fortunately, a service manual from Nokia Care show us exactly how to do it step-by-step without messing things up.<span id="more-5665"></span></p>

<p><strong>1.</strong> Unscrew the Torx+ size 4 screw on each side of the <a href="http://thenokiablog.com/tag/n8/" title="Nokia N8 tagged posts">Nokia N8</a> 7 full turns. Do not remove the screw completely!<br />

<p>The <a href="http://thenokiablog.com/2009/06/23/nokia-n97-review-hardware/" title="Nokia N97 Review of Hardware">Nokia N97</a> is working hard during our 3-week Eurotrip. We&#8217;re currently in London and I&#8217;ll tell you how I&#8217;ve been using it so far as a tourist. The Nokia N97&#8217;s 1500mAh battery held up pretty well. <span id="more-5242"></span></p>
<p class="center"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/mackarus/4583438549/" title="They drive on other side. Make sure ur looking the right way #n97 by mackarus, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4002/4583438549_03cae75a2e.jpg" width="375" height="500" alt="They drive on other side. Make sure ur looking the right way #n97" /></a><br />
	<em>They drive on the left side, so make sure you&#8217;re looking the right way!</em></p>
<p>One of the big reasons I chose the Nokia N97 as my main device for the trip was because I had an extra battery that I took from the <a href="http://thenokiablog.com/2010/04/05/nokia-e72-unboxing-video/" title="Nokia E72 Unboxing With Video">E72</a>. They use the same type of battery. After the <a href="http://thenokiablog.com/2010/05/05/eurotrip-navigating-london-ovi-maps-nokia-n97/">previous night&#8217;s usage</a>, the Nokia N97 only used up one bar of battery. I didn&#8217;t bother recharging it before hitting the bed. Bad idea!</p>
<p>This morning, the Nokia N97 had one bar left. How did that happen?! Turned out I forgot to exit out of Ovi Maps. It was still in the <a href="http://thenokiablog.com/2010/01/21/nokia-free-worldwide-walk-drive-navigation-ovi-maps/" title="Nokia Gives Away Free Worldwide Walk &amp; Drive Navigation For New Ovi Maps">walk navigation</a> menu. I didn&#8217;t have time to recharge so I just replaced it with my extra battery. </p>
<p>I left the hotel with a full battery around 11am and completely killed it by 7pm. This was my approximate usage:</p>
<ul>
<li>No phone calls or SMS</li>
<li><a href="http://thenokiablog.com/2008/05/20/vlog-joikuspot-is-a-must-have-s60-app/" title="Vlog: Joikuspot is a Must Have S60 App">Joikuspot</a> for about 20 minutes when my wife needed to go online with her iPhone.</li>
<li>Ovi Maps for about 20 minutes for navigation.</li>
<li>Web browser for about 20 minutes mostly on Facebook.</li>
<li>Took 7 photos (I also carry a DSLR) </li>
<li>Used <a href="http://thenokiablog.com/2009/04/16/pixelpipe-on-nokia-share-online-rocks/" title="PixelPipe On Nokia Share Online Rocks!">Pixelpipe</a> to upload 2 photos to Facebook, Flickr, and Twitter.</li>
<li>Left <a href="http://thenokiablog.com/tag/gravity/" title="Gravity Tagged Posts | The Nokia Blog">Gravity</a> running and regularly checked Twitter</li>
<li>Left <a href="http://thenokiablog.com/tag/messaging/" title="Messaging Tagged Posts | The Nokia Blog">Nokia Messaging</a> running for emails</li>
</ul>
<p>The <a href="http://thenokiablog.com/go/nokia-n97-white/" title="">Nokia N97</a>&#8217;s battery life doesn&#8217;t seem bad, right? I&#8217;m making sure both the batteries are charged tonight so I can have more usage tomorrow. We&#8217;re planning to meet the <a href="http://www.womworld.com/nokia/" title="WOMWorld/Nokia">WOMWorld/Nokia</a> crew tomorrow (Friday, 7th May) night for drinks. Tweet us up if you&#8217;re in town! <a href="http://twitter.com/thenokiablog" title="">@thenokiablog</a>, <a href="http://twitter.com/womworldnokia" title="">@womworldnokia</a></p>

<p>Yes it&#8217;s all possible with Nokia phones running on S60, but kills the battery sooner than you want to. If you&#8217;re a heavy Nokia user, let us know what you do to drain your phone batteries quicker than normal. How do you deal with it? Have a another battery tucked in your wallet?</p>

<p>The most concerning issue on the Nokia N96 is the small 950mah battery. We all know this battery performed poorly on the original Nokia N95 so why did Nokia decide to use it again with the Nokia N96. I was able to talk to the manager at <a href="http://thenokiablog.com/2008/02/08/mobile-world-congress-here-i-come/" title="Mobile World Congress Here I Come | The Nokia Blog">Mobile World Congress</a> and get his answer on video.<span id="more-320"></span></p>
<p>The Nokia N96 product manager says that bigger battery means bigger device. It was more important to keep the device comfortable to hold. He also claims that software optimizations were attributed to the Nokia N96 to make it more efficient. Take a look at the video below.</p>
<p class="center"><object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/YlXYqJQKD70"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/YlXYqJQKD70" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"></embed></object></p>

<p>We all have to wait and see if what he is telling us is true. I wanted to throw my original Nokia N95 with the 950mah battery in the garbage every day after hearing the low battery warning. Nokia, don&#8217;t make me remember those days.</p>
