GoodGuide’s scientists have rated 576 phones depending on their health, environmental and social performance. Scores are based on energy efficient chargers, environmentally-preferable materials, green production practices, recycling programs, and other factors. The top 26 phones are all made by Nokia. The Nokia C6 earned the number 1 spot.

Deal: Nokia C6-00 for $199.99 at Amazon

post thumbnail

If you’re looking to buy a feature-packed smartphone for a relatively low price, I suggest checking out the Nokia C6-00 which is currently being sold by Amazon USA for only $199.99. It’s unlocked and you don’t have to sign up for a 2-year contract with a carrier. Just put your existing SIM card in, and you’re all set. For comparison, the Nokia USA store is selling the C6-00 for $259.

Nokia Explains ClearBlack Display on Video

post thumbnail

Nokia just published a 90 second video on YouTube showing how great ClearBlack displays are. I have to admit it’s a cool marketing video that delivers the message. ClearBlack ensures blacker blacks, whiter whites, brighter colors, zero reflection, and complete visibility even when outdoors on a sunny day. You can see it for yourself when the Nokia E7 and C6-01 become available.

Poll: Do you like the Full Focus Cameras in Nokia C6, C7 or E7?

post thumbnail

Nokia Conversations published a post yesterday explaining the Full Focus camera technology in their new devices such as the Nokia C6, C7, and E7. They even go on to argue that Full Focus cameras are in fact more complex than autofocus cameras. I must confess that I’m not a fan of this feature. I wonder how you feel about this.

Symbian^3 Device Heading to AT&T Early 2011, Most Likely Nokia C6-01

post thumbnail

Nokia and AT&T jointly announced today the 2010 Calling All Innovators. It’s a contest with $10 million (USD) in cash and prizes up for grabs for developers to create new applications and games for the new Nokia N8 and future Nokia devices for consumers in the U.S. and Canada. If that’s not a clear sign that the Nokia N8 or something similar is heading to AT&T, it gets clearer in the contest rules.

Nokia C6 Hands-on from Nokia World 2010

post thumbnail

The new Nokia C6 (C6-01 to be exact) was announced at Nokia World 2010 in London. There were a lot of Nokia folks around the Experience Lounge with the device, so I asked one of them to give you a hands-on demo. Video after the jump.

Nokia C6-02 and C6-01 User Agent Profiles Reveal Some Specs

post thumbnail

The User Agent Profiles for the Nokia C6-01 and Nokia C6-02 are already resting comfortably in Nokia’s servers and they reveal some specs. We’ve seen leaked official photos of the Nokia C6-01, but this is the first time I’ve heard of the C6-02. The UAProfiles don’t show much, but read on to see what we uncovered.

Swype Now at Nokia Beta Labs. Brings Portrait Qwerty to Symbian^1 Too

post thumbnail

One of my wishes for Nokia became true this morning when Swype for Symbian became available at Beta Labs. If you are unfamiliar with Swype, it’s a faster way to input text on screen by sliding your finger over the letters. I know it sounds crazy, but it works really well after learning how to use it. Watch the official announcement video and a raw footage of me Swyping one-handed with the Nokia C6 after the jump.
