Here’s a concept device from Nokia called the Kinetic. You use it by bending and twisting. It is not a touchscreen! This new technology is very beneficial for those who live in cold environments because gloves don’t work well with touchscreens.

Demo: Near Field Communication (NFC) Concept for MeeGo

Dustin Kassman from ICS showed me a proof of concept of a Near Field Communication (NFC) app they created on the MeeGo platform. The application is running on a MeeGo tablet connected to the Nokia C7 as the writer for RFID tags. Dustin then showed me how you can use the NFC reader on the Nokia C7 to retrieve the information from the tags. Take a look.

Nokia Kinetic Concept Design Stands Up On Notifications

Creative designer Jeremy Innes-Hopkins has an interesting concept phone called the Nokia Kinetic. The phone responds to notifications through movement. An electromagnet in the base of the phone allows weight to be shifted which causes the phone to stand up when receiving a call, for example.
