SXSW Interactive just finished and I’m at the airport waiting for my flight back to New York City. The festival was a lot of fun and describing it in text wouldn’t be enough. I had the Nokia N97 mini with me taking photos and sharing immediately to friends in Facebook & Twitter. Here’s a recap of some of the things the Nokia competition winners and I have done in Austin, Texas.
The Nokia N97 Widget Competition is now live! You have until February 27th, 2009 to design a widget you want to appear on the Nokia N97. The winning widget designer will receive a Nokia N97 ahead of the public release, pre-installed with their homescreen widget. Of course, I already submitted mine!
Nokia just launched the Free Hands Challenge where you can win a Nokia N82 and the Nokia BH-902 bluetooth headset each week. I am not passing on this opportunity, so I’ve already uploaded my video. The challenge itself is to find out what people can do with their hands. My first video is during a cultural show where we demonstrated stickfighting martial arts. We messed up a bit, but check it out.
Congratulations to Marco from El Blog De Marco as the winner of the $50 Handango Gift Card. There were 31 people who entered the contest. Eight were email subscribers that were counted twice for a total of 39 entries. The winner was selected using the RANDBETWEEN function on Microsoft Excel. An email was sent to Marco for confirmation.
Congratulations to Abul Hussain, also known as adonisdemon, who blogs at Symbian in Motion for winning the five Ovi stickers from last week’s giveaway. To make sure that I was not cheating on this contest, I decided to stream the video to Qik from the Nokia N95. It worked as expected.
Do you like stickers? Do you like Ovi? I’m sharing by giving away five Ovi stickers to one random commenter. All you have to do is comment in this post that you want to participate. I’ve started uploading some of my videos to Nokia Ovi Share already and I’m loving it. All upcoming videoblogs will be posted there.
