Blink for Windows Phone gives you burst mode for your camera so you can snap multiple photos with one click. The app is free at the Windows Phone Store for Windows Phone 8 devices. I used the Nokia Lumia 920 in this video.

Nokia Maps is included with Nokia Lumia devices, but check out gMaps Pro if you want to use Google Maps on Windows Phone 8. It supports search, traffic, public transit, routes, street view, and more. There’s also navigation, but no voice support. Video after the jump.

The official Twitter application for Windows Phone has never been good enough compared to the third-party apps, but the latest update adds one feature that none of the others have: REAL push notifications. You instantly get notified of new mentions, favorites, retweets, direct messages, or new followers. The settings page let you individually turn on/off any of these.

Social Birthday Tile uses your Facebook account to figure out which friends of yours have birthdays this week and show it on a live tile! In the app itself, you can go and post on your friend’s wall using message templates. You can see how it works on my Nokia Lumia 800.
