A design patent for a device codenamed Nokia Phi was revealed today by the US Patent and Trademark Office. If this device is supposed to have a 4.7-inch display, then the illustration shows us this device will be proportionately thick. Let’s hope this design isn’t final. Take a look.
Luxembourgish designer, BrianMFB, is back at The Nokia Blog to share another one of his mockups. Today, he shows off a concept design, dubbed the Nokia Lumia 850. I think it looks great. Check it out!

Nokia head designer Marko Ahtisaari told the WSJ to expect more devices using the Polycarbonate material with inherent color. Mr. Ahtisaari and his team are also aiming to design in a way that allows users to keep their heads up again.

If you love the inclusion of Gorilla Glass on the Nokia N8, we have good news for you. All glass displays on Nokia phones will come from Gorilla Glass according to senior design manager for smartphones, Niilo Alfthan. He tweeted about the displays during a Nokia Design Q&A earlier this morning. Gorilla Glass is infamous because it is very hard to scratch or break, making those screen protectors obsolete.
Creative designer Jeremy Innes-Hopkins has an interesting concept phone called the Nokia Kinetic. The phone responds to notifications through movement. An electromagnet in the base of the phone allows weight to be shifted which causes the phone to stand up when receiving a call, for example.
