A new design patent from Nokia looks very similar to a leaked photo of the Nokia Lumia 719 from 3 months ago. We’ll see if this device gets officially announced at the September 5th press conference.
Nokia Phi Design Patent Revealed, Looks Like a Brick
A design patent for a device codenamed Nokia Phi was revealed today by the US Patent and Trademark Office. If this device is supposed to have a 4.7-inch display, then the illustration shows us this device will be proportionately thick. Let’s hope this design isn’t final. Take a look.

Nokia Store Webpage Gets a Redesign
When did the Nokia Store webpage get a redesign? I just noticed after it was mentioned by Farhan at Sense Applied. More apps are shown per page and the navigation bar was moved to the left side. I like it!
Nokia Head Designer on Future Devices
If you’d like to know how Nokia’s future phones are going to look, check out the Nokia N9. Nokia head designer Marko Ahtisaari told the WSJ to expect more devices using the Polycarbonate material with inherent color. Mr. Ahtisaari and his team are also aiming to design in a way that allows users to keep their heads up again.

All Nokia Phones with Glass Displays are Gorilla Glass
If you love the inclusion of Gorilla Glass on the Nokia N8, we have good news for you. All glass displays on Nokia phones will come from Gorilla Glass according to senior design manager for smartphones, Niilo Alfthan. He tweeted about the displays during a Nokia Design Q&A earlier this morning. Gorilla Glass is infamous because it is very hard to scratch or break, making those screen protectors obsolete.
Nokia Kinetic Concept Design Stands Up On Notifications
Creative designer Jeremy Innes-Hopkins has an interesting concept phone called the Nokia Kinetic. The phone responds to notifications through movement. An electromagnet in the base of the phone allows weight to be shifted which causes the phone to stand up when receiving a call, for example.
