Giant Magenta Nokia Lumia 800 Unveiled in Paris
Another cool marketing stunt from Microsoft and Nokia was spotted in Paris. A giant 10 meters high Nokia Lumia 800 in pink was unveiled and will stay there for the next few days. It’s situated at Champs-Élysées where pedestrian and road traffic are are very high especially right before the holidays.
Nokia and T-Mobile USA Announcing Something on December 14th
Two of my favorite brands, T-Mobile USA and Nokia, are going to announce something on December 14th. The invitation hints Windows Phone. Could it be the Nokia Lumia 710? Maybe the Lumia 900? We’ll have to wait and see.
First 100 to Buy Nokia Lumia 800 in Singapore Gets Free Xbox with Kinect
Singapore launches the Nokia Lumia 800 December 7th and I’m expecting to see lines. The first 100 to buy the Nokia Lumia 800 at this event will also get an Xbox 360 with Kinect absolutely free. Umm.. wow! If you’re in Singapore, it starts at 7pm on Read Bridge at Clarke Quay.
Nokia’s Booth at 2012 International CES
Nokia is looking to have a bigger presence at the 2012 International CES tradeshow on January 10-13th compared to previous years. They only had a small private meeting room at the last show and that was about Qt development. No new devices were announced or shown. At the upcoming event, Nokia has an actual booth and they are the official sponsor of the hall they’re in. Will we see new devices and announcements geared towards the US market?
Recap of Big Windows Phone and Night Party with Windows Phone
The Windows Phone team definitely knows how to throw parties. Here’s a video recap of what happened on Monday. We checked out the big Windows Phone display at Herald Square in New York City on Monday. There was a performance by the Far East Movement. The giant Windows Phone was very functional. Live Tiles were moving and even received push notifications.
Let’s Call it a Windows Phone Monday
This Monday’s schedule has been taken over by Windows Phone! At around 10:45AM (Eastern Time), we were invited to a “Backstage” event with the Windows Phone team. Windows Phone president Andrew Lees and Windows Phone VP Joe Belfiore will be there along with a host of partners. According to the invite, that’s not the only big thing Windows Phone has planned.
Nokia Launches #NokiaConnects for Social Media Week
As you probably know, Nokia is the headline sponsor of Social Media Week. It is a bi-annual network of conferences about social media starting February 7th. The press conference on Thursday revealed the #NokiaConnects application that Nokia launched for Social Media Week. The web app is now live.
MeeGo Devices at Intel AppUp Application Lab Feb 16th
If you want to spend some time with Meego-based devices, you might want to head over to Barcelona. In addition to Mobile World Congress, there’s an event called Intel AppUp Application Lab: MeeGo Series on February 16th. According to the agenda, MeeGo devices will be there for attendees to play with. The event is targeted towards developers. We’re still not sure if Meego devices from Nokia will be announced at MWC, so we’ll just have to wait. Check out the agenda after the jump
Nokia to Announce Big News January 21st
A few members of the media have received invitations to an Ovi event on Thursday 21st January where some big news will be shared. Executive VP Anssi Vanjoki will take the stage along with Nokia UK GM Mark Lughran. I am looking forward to a device announcement, but I think this will be more about the Nokia Ovi store. We’ll find out soon.
Your Music Player is Ringing – Nokia Web Event March 11th
It looks like there’s going to be a Nokia Event on March 11th that we can all watch on the web. Not a a lot details are shared, other than a header saying, “Your Music Player is Ringing.” Could it be a new phone? A new service? What do you think?
