Nokia Sold 4.4 Million Lumia Devices in 4th Quarter, No More Symbian

Nokia just published their financial report for the fourth quarter of 2012. They sold 4.4 million Lumia devices over the quarter compared to 2.9 million in the previous quarter. Nokia also announced they will no longer be releasing a Symbian device.

Foxconn, Nokia’s Contract Phone Maker, Reports $226 Million Net Loss H1 2012

Foxconn International, the world’s biggest contract maker of cellphones reported a net loss of $226.07 million for the last 6 months. That’s much worse than analysts’ forecasts of $38 million net loss according to Reuters. Foxconn’s primary client is Nokia.

Nokia Execs Buy One Million Shares, Stock Price Goes Up

Nokia CEO Stephen Elop and several board members bought more than one million shares of company stock last week according to WSJ. The purchases underscore their commitment to Nokia and its future. Last week, the stock price was as low as $1.70. It’s up to $2.41 at the time of publishing this post.

4 Million Nokia Lumia Phones Shipped in Q2 2012

Nokia just published their second quarter financial results. The report is 35 pages long and you can read it directly here. 10.2 million smartphones were shipped. 4 million of that were Nokia Lumia devices. The remainder 6.2 million units were Symbian and Meego phones.
