What Happened to Framestore FX Studio for Nokia N8?
Before the Nokia N8 was released, Framestore and Nokia announced an app that would let people add Hollywood-quality special effects to their video clips. They ran a competition in July 2010 and even showed it off at TEDx last November. So… where is the app? It appears to be still in development.

Simon Gosling, Senior Producer with Framestore, talked about FX Studio at TEDxNewsSt. FX studio is an upcoming app for the Nokia N8 that will let you add Hollywood-quality special effects to your video clips. If you didn’t already know, Framestore created visual effects for Avatar, Prince of Persia, Sherlock Holmes, and even the Nokia N8 ads broadcasting in the UK. Simon’s session is available on video. Framestore Announces Winners of the FX Studio Competiton for Nokia N8

Framestore, the studio that creates visual effects for Hollywood movies such as Avatar, Prince of Persia, and Sherlock Holmes, is currently working with Nokia to create a mobile app called FX Studio. It allows people to add Hollywood-quality special effects to their video clips. They’ve created over 20 original effects already, but they’re asking people to submit ideas to add to the collection. Prizes include a Nokia N8 and software packs from Autodesk.
