Road Trips and Mobile Survival
I’ve been in Houston, Texas visiting relatives for the past week. Yesterday, I took my mom on a bus tour to a casino in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The trip took two and a half hours to get there. I’ll tell you how I survived the road trip with the Nokia N82, Nokia N95, Nokia N800, and Proporta charger
Nokia N78 Built-In Geotagging Explained by User Manual
After looking at the Nokia N78 user manual from the FCC, you can see a section explaining how the built-in geotagging function works. It is simple. If the ‘record location’ option is on and a GPS position is acquired, the camera will save the location information within the pictures’ Exif data. No need for other applications like Shozu or Location Tagger.
Photodriving and Geotagging with the Nokia N82
Instead of photowalking, I was photodriving using the Nokia N82. This basically means I was taking pictures while driving. With the addition of Shozu, all the pictures I took were also geotagged with the current location. What I get as a result are photos uploaded to Flickr show up as dots on a map where the pictures were taken from. If you connect the dots, you can slightly see the path taken. This is also possible with other Nseries phones enabled with GPS like the Nokia N95.
