IOS 7 Going Flat Like Windows Phone

The next update for the iOS is rumored to feature a “very, very flat” interface according to 9to5mac’s sources. It has a level of flatness similar to Windows Phone and Metro UI, says one of their sources. I wonder how iOS users are going to react to this change.

Here Maps by Nokia was just released for iOS. In this video, we show you how it looks on the iPhone 5. Right away, I noticed the maps were blurry. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me, but a quick switch to Apple Maps shows a noticeable difference. Video after the jump.

How to Get Nokia Maps Full Screen for iPhone and iPad

If you’re not happy with Apple Maps on the new iOS 6 for iPhone and iPad, you can try Nokia Maps. You can now get it in full screen too. Officially, it’s currently a web app that needs the web browser. The address bar and the navigation tab take up space on the screen.

Windows Phone 8 and Resuming/Restarting Apps

One thing that bothered me about Windows Phone, but learned to live with, is that apps restart when clicking on their tile from the homescreen or app list. If an app has already been launched then you go elsewhere, you can get back to where you left off by holding the back button. There was good news from WPCentral that launching an app in Windows Phone 8 that is already running will bring you to where you left off, not restart the app.
