The T-Mobile Nokia Astound got an update last week with the addition of Swype keyboard in portrait mode. This is currently the only Symbian^3 phone with this feature. The rest (Nokia C7, Nokia N8, Nokia E7) still only has Swype in landscape mode. I hope to see this feature in all Symbian^3 phones soon.
Let’s take a little break from the Windows and Nokia rumors. We just received a few screenshots of the Symbian PR2.0 update. You get to preview the new browser and portrait keyboard that were missing in PR1.1. Sorry, but no word yet on when to expect it. I hope it’s sooner than later. Some of [...]
Continue reading Sneak Peek: Symbian PR2.0 Portrait Keyboard & New Browser Screenshots at The Nokia Blog

Nokia’s current devices with Qwerty keyboards allow users to type symbols or numbers by long-pressing a corresponding button… except the Nokia N900. That’s going to change in a firmware update according to Maemo Bugmaster Andre Klapper. He says the fix is now part of the internal build version 2009.52-10. As of publishing this post, the [...]
Continue reading Confirmed: Symbols/Numbers via Long-Press Coming to Nokia N900 Firmware Update at The Nokia Blog

When I decided to go back to school at night, I knew I’d be taking on a long commute and I wouldn’t want to lug my Macbook Pro the entire way. In undergrad I used an ancient HP Jornada and a fold out keyboard to take all my notes. Having just acquired a Nokia E71, [...]
Continue reading Nokia E71 With Wireless Keyboard – A Student’s Best Friend at The Nokia Blog

Hi all! Andrew here. Bringing you a review of the Nokia N810 tablet in case you were ever in the market for such a gadget. Having owned the N800, I can tell you that the N810 is no sidegrade, and definitely takes it a step up. The first thing I noticed about the N800 when [...]
Continue reading Review: Fun with the Nokia N810 at The Nokia Blog

Blogging with mobility is becoming popular. For example, Ricky Cadden uses Maemo Wordpy on his Nokia N810. Norman John uses combination of the Nokia DT-22 Tripod, Nokia SU-8W Keyboard, and Nokia N95 8GB for mobile blogging. I like to keep blogging on my laptop, but I do moderate the Nokia Blog comments through my Nokia [...]
Continue reading Moderating My Blog On My Nokia N95 at The Nokia Blog
