Nokia India Gives Gov’t Access to Users’ Emails & Messages
Nokia India on Thursday completed installation of servers that will enable security agencies to lawfully snoop into users’ emails and messages. Both Nokia and RIM have been asked by India’s domestic intelligence agency to create lawful interception facilities earlier this year. RIM has until January 2011 to follow in Nokia’s steps, according to the Times of India.
Nokia and Intuit Launch GoConnect in India, a Messaging Service for Small Businesses
In partnership with Intuit, Nokia launched a new messaging service for small businesses on Tuesday, called GoConnect. It allows businesses with up to 10 employees to send SMS to their customers about their products and services in a personalized manner. The service is being launched as a pilot in Delhi and Chandigarh, but they expect to roll out GoConnect across India by early 2011.
Nokia Messaging Issues to be Resolved by Friday Aug. 27th
If you have been experiencing problems with Nokia Messaging in the past two weeks, Nokia says they will completely fix it by Friday, August 27th. Some of the issues included not receiving emails and getting notifications that their subscription has ended. They provided some troubleshooting steps to reboot the Nokia Messaging service.
Nokia Messaging for Nokia N900 Missing From T-Mobile USA Users? (Updated)
Updated with Nokia’s response below. I updated my Nokia N900 to Maemo 1.2 and wanted to start everything from scratch. The first thing I wanted to set up was my email. To get push email on the Nokia N900, I needed to add my Gmail accounts through the Nokia Messaging option. To my surprise, it was not listed as an option after I updated.
New Messaging Devices Nokia C3, Nokia C6, & Nokia E5 Officially Announced
Nokia announced 3 new affordable handsets designed around messaging and social networking – the Nokia C3, Nokia C6, and Nokia E5. I should get a cookie, because that’s what I guessed for the countdown. The C3 and C6 are expected in the 2nd quarter this year for EUR 90 and 220 respectively, while the E5 is expected in the 3rd quarter for EUR 180.
Nokia To Unveil New Messaging Solutions on Tuesday April 13th
If you head over to Nokia’s event page titled Everyone Connect, there’s a countdown that ends on April 13th, 4AM Eastern. Further investigation leads us to 2 clues that the countdown is about ‘new messaging solutions.’ That vague statement could mean new devices, services, or apps. We won’t know for sure until that clock reaches zero.

Nokia Messaging for Social Networks Beta2 App Review
I’ve been using the second beta to Nokia Messaging for Social Networks the weekend before today’s official announcement. If you need a reminder, the first beta was released at Nokia World, supporting only Facebook. The new version adds new options for Facebook and adds support for Twitter. United States Turned On for Nokia Messaging
@nokiamessaging tweeted on Friday that the US has been turned on for Nokia Messaging. This means we can now set up our Nokia Messaging accounts directly from the phone. Previously, US residents had to press a button at email.nokia.com using a computer, then wait for an SMS on the phone.
