They report that Nokia will have five total ranges including the C, X, E, N, and S series. Perhaps the biggest scoop is about Nokia’s supposedly next major release named the Nokia N8.

The site is in French, so I’m trying to quote from the translation.

According to the Tom’s Guide, here are the letters and numbers that identify the series.

C: lower end voice-based.

X: focus on entertainment, music for a young target

E: dedicated to business, solutions for e-mails

N: High-end

S: very upscale and limited editions

They highlighted some devices as major models.

Nokia C5-00 – Basic business device with GPS. Expected June.

Nokia C3-00 – A low-cost multitasking Symbian S40 Qwerty device that run emails in the background.

Nokia C5-01 – Qwerty device that’s a direct competitor to Blackberry.

And last but not least, the Nokia N8-00. It is scheduled for the summer with a capacitive multitouch 3.5in display and be the first to offer Symbian^3 OS. It carries a 12 megapixel camera and capture 720p at 30 frames per second. It will also feature an HDMI output. Another interesting mention is Video on Demand through the Ovi Store.

I don’t know how reliable this information is, but the web site looks legitimate. MWC is just a few days away. We’ll see if there’s any truth to these rumors.

It looks like Nokia will be announcing a Nokia Nseries phone with 8 megapixels and Carl Zeiss lens at the upcoming Mobile World Congress a few days from now. They’ve posted a sample photo taken from the said device, and after analyzing the Exif data, some specs are “leaked”.

Here is the resized photo below. Click for the original file and check out the Exif data yourself.

The photo is 3274×2448 pixels which equals to 8 megapixels. Another major info is the Make and Model of the camera used. The exif data says Nokia Undisclosed (Carl Zeiss).

There’s an issue where people argue that megapixels isn’t that important. However, I came to realize that more megapixels do come in very handy. I don’t want the image quality to suffer in case I need to crop and resize photos.

It looks like Mobile World Congress 09 will actually be exciting for Nokia. I’ll be watching closely. You should too.

I’m not sure where Unwired View quoted Eldar, but they quoted him saying:

At first glance, for now, the app portal looks so so, there is some confusion. But they are trying, polishing it and a lot has changed for the better in a matter of days. A right step in a right direction… And the distribution and revenue sharing model between app makers and Nokia looks very attractive.

If this is true, this is good news for Nokia owners wanting to find more applications to install. Apple’s App Store definitely set a very high standard, so I can’t wait to see how Nokia’s own store compares.

I hope the quality on the final production will be better. Amir from Phone Rush asked the questions while I captured it on video. Take a look.

DVB-H is one of the features on the Nokia N96. You can basically watch live TV on your phone. The 2.8 inch screen is enough to to satisfy. The only problem is that it is not widely available. I think only a half dozen countries can broadcast mobile TV.

It is like having the secondary front-facing camera on my Nseries phones like the Nokia N95 and Nokia N82. My phone has it for video-calling… but I can’t use it in the US.

On a positive note, the Nokia N96 will have a built-in 16gb of storage plus an expandable microSDHC card slot. By the time the Nokia N96 comes out, we will probably have up to 32GB cards for a total of 48GB of storage.

I’ve read about DVB-H on the internet and devices capable of showing live TV. I’m glad I finally saw a live demo. It looks great on the Nokia N96.

I just received confirmation that I’ll be heading to the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. I’m excited that Nokia and Nseries WOM World are giving me the opportunity to attend such events and share my experience with my readers. I’m looking forward to see some cool new gadgets and services related to the mobile industry. Read on to see my coverage plans.

I’ll be taking many photos and videos and post them online as soon as possible. My main gadgets will be the Nokia N95 NAM, Nokia N82, and Macbook Pro.

Using the laptop, I’ll be posting live on the blog during the keynotes. Using Shozu on either of the phones, I’ll be able to upload photos to Flickr automatically after pictures are taken. Using Qik or Flixwagon on the phones (I’m still not sure which one I’ll prefer), I’ll be able to stream video to you live. Isn’t it amazing what our phones are now capable of?

I will be leaving New York City tomorrow and land in Barcelona Saturday morning, Feb. 10th. I don’t know what my itinerary will be like, but I will post it as soon as I find out. Check back frequently and subscribe to the Nokia blog feed to stay updated.

If you are going to be there, let me know and say hi! I know a bunch of bloggers I follow will be there as well so I’m looking forward to meet them in person.
