I made a demo video so you can see how the app performs in real life with the Nokia N8, instead of the official Nokia video. Nokia Reader is a simple RSS reader to manage news feeds on your Symbian phone. Check it out.

What Happened to Framestore FX Studio for Nokia N8?

Before the Nokia N8 was released, Framestore and Nokia announced an app that would let people add Hollywood-quality special effects to their video clips. They ran a competition in July 2010 and even showed it off at TEDx last November. So… where is the app? It appears to be still in development.

Shazam for Nokia N8, C7, C6-01 Now Available at Ovi Store

Shazam is now officially available for the new Symbian phones: Nokia N8, C7, C6-01 (and the E7 when it comes out). If you haven’t heard of Shazam before, it can identify music anywhere: from TV, radio or in a bar. You can discover and buy music tracks, find tour dates for tagged artists and buy tickets to the gig, share tags and get music recommendations.

Nokia Phasing Out Ovi Music Unlimited?

The Esphoneblog received mail that the Nokia Ovi Music Unlimited will be discontinued in Finland. Will other countries soon follow? According to the letter, devices bundled with Ovi Music Unlimited will no longer ship from Nokia’s factories this year. Customers can still activate the 1-year subscription on devices currently on the market, and current subscribers will not be affected. Check out the letter after the jump.

Top 10 Downloaded Games at Ovi Store are Free

The official Nokia Conversations blog just listed the top 10 downloaded games at the Ovi Store for the new Symbian devices (Nokia N8, C7, C6-01). They’re all free, so this is a great list to check if you’re looking for new games on your phone. There were a few games I haven’t check out yet that I’m definitely going to download now. Buy a Nokia in Qatar, Get Free Plane Tickets

To celebrate Qatar’s win to host the 2022 FIFA Football World Cup, Qatar Airways are offering free economy class return tickets with purchase of Nokia phones: Nokia N8, E5, E63, E72, C7, C6, C3, X3-02 and Nokia 6120. Twenty-two destinations in the Middle East are included in this deal. There is no limit on number of Nokia purchases.

Nokia N8 Firmware Update Expected in January 2011

The Nokia India Twitter account revealed that a firmware update for the Nokia N8 will be available in January. No further details were shared, so we’re not sure whether this update will bring a new browser, portrait Qwerty, or other UI enhancements. We’ll just have to wait and see.
