The Nokia N85 was announced this morning and I’m surprised how this newcomer is forcing itself into the Nokia N96’s territory. The N96 is supposed to be the upgrade to the Nokia N95, according to product managers I spoke to, but it seems the lower-priced Nokia N85 is actually bringing more to the table. We’ve heard about the Nokia N85 and guessed what it could be, but the leaked photos completely threw us off. Another curveball thrown at us is that it is possible to come in a North American variant. Two UAProfiles have appeared on the Nokia website showing a model Nokia N85-1 and Nokia N85-3. History have taught us that -1 is for Europe and -3 is for North America.

Engadget just posted what they believe to be photos of the Nokia N85, however nothing is for sure because it is labeled as a prototype N00. This news comes in the middle of Apple’s WWDC announcements highly covered by all the big tech blogs today and possibly this whole week. Nokia wants some attention too!
