Rumor: No Nokia N93/N93i Successor Up To 2010
A reliable source said that there are no phones with the Nokia N93’s form factor in the future up to 2010. I’m a little surprised because I imagined Nokia’s next video flagship phone to be another flip-and-swivel attention grabbing phone like the Nokia N93.
How To: Easy and Best Video Quality Conversion Using VisualHub on Mac
I previously wrote how to convert videos for Nokia Nseries phones, but now I’ve been using a better solution for Mac users with phones capable of playing excellent quality H.264 videos like the Nokia N93i, Nokia N82, and all versions of the Nokia N95. VisualHub creators made sure to make the program very easy to use. Take a look at the How-To.
Software Update Nokia N93i Firmware Using a Mac
I used my Apple Macbook Pro to update the Nokia N93i to the latest firmware as of writing this entry, version 30.0.013, using VMware Fusion without any problems. As you may know, Nokia Software Update only works on Windows. If you are a Mac user, you get the benefits of both worlds by being able to run Windows on a Mac.
Vlog: Road Trip to Philly with the Nokia N93i and N95
My friends and I were craving for some authentic cheesesteaks so we took a road trip from New York City to Philadelphia. Among the four of us, we had two Nokia N95s, an N93i, and a Nokia N80. The Nokia N93i became the favorite video tool, while the N95’s for pictures. We barely used the N80 (time to upgrade, G!). Now that I’m back in NYC, I combined our videos and photos and crammed them into a 3 minute video of our road trip. Check it out.
On Vacation, Be Back in 10 Days
In a few hours, I’ll be stepping into my first cruise to the Caribbean. I haven’t packed yet, but I’m really excited. Don’t expect any posts in the next week. I’ll be bringing my Nokia N95 and the Nokia N93i (thank you WOMWorld and Nokia). I’ll upload pictures from my Nokia N95 to Flickr if the WiFi on the ship works as advertised. I’ll have videos edited and uploaded when I get back from the trip.
Vlog: Playing Global Race on the Nokia N95
I showed off the Global Race game on my Nokia N95 to my co-workers last week and they were surprised to see something like it on a phone. I also brought in the Nokia N93i to catch their reaction and thoughts on video.
Nokia N93i Transformers Edition
A search on Google led to me to discover an interesting press release from Russia Nokia. I wonder why they did not release it Nokia Europe? According to the press release, Nokia N93i Transformers Edition is preloaded with the game “Transformers”, three thematic background images, as well as two exclusive ringing set in the model. In addition, the new Nokia N93i Transformers Edition is packaged in a specially designed box. Read the translated full press release.
Videoblogging Encoding Settings for the Nokia N95, N93, and N93i
I will show you how you can optimize videos from the Nokia N95, Nokia N93, and Nokia N93i for videoblogging. These Nokia phones are also camcorders that shoot DVD-like quality. That means high quality video-recording that fits in your pocket. However, if you are new to videoblogging, you will find out that even just 6 minutes of video from your Nseries phone can go more than 100MB of space, the max limit in popular video sharing sites, YouTube and blip.TV.
The Nokia N93i is Now Available
The Nokia N93i is finally available to the market. The first price a seller on eBay offered USD $945. That is about USD $100 less than how much the Nokia N93 initially sold but stil expensive. Keep in mind the suggested price for the Nokia N93i is 600 Euros (USD $775), so expect the prices to drop as more sellers get their shipment. You can track the prices for the Nokia N93i here at the Nokia blog.
Review: Using Vox with the Nokia N93
I will review the Vox application in my Nokia N93. The Nokia N93i will be the first Nseries device to have the application built in, but existing Nseries phone owners can use Vox now by running a configuration file. Vox members are able to upload videos and full size photos directly from the camera or Image Gallery application. However I can only think of one scenario when I’ll need to use this service.
