We have a hands-on overview of the Nokia N8 from Sami Maala, one of the Product Managers at Nokia. This was taken from Nokia World in London. Mr. Maala goes over the hardware and software features. Prepare for more videos from Nokia World! In this video, Nokia’s imaging expert Damian Dinning explains how they listened to what people like in pictures, what don’t they like, etc, and brought that into the Nokia N8. They’re really proud of the results. Watch the video after the jump.
Nokia’s biggest event of the year is here and I’ll be roaming ICC London ExCeL to provide some coverage. Nokia World is a 2-day conference that starts September 14th, but I’ll be on the ground a day early. Will we finally get an official announcement of the Nokia C7? Will we get a glimpse of the Nokia E7? Will we see a Nokia Meego device? Follow this page for the latest updates.
Nokia is going to push out a bunch of videos in the build up to Nokia World 2010. The hamster mobile charger for the Nokia N8 that we posted last week was first in the series. The theme is, “It’s not technology, it’s what you do with it.” A new video is now live on Nokia’s YouTube channel, and I was told you might even see a couple of these videos on TV.
The official Ovi Blog asked their Music team what they’re looking forward to most at Nokia World and one of the members’ response caught my eye. Steven Stewart, Senior Manager at Ovi Music said, “I think people are going to be surprised with how truly amazing the new devices are.” Read on for the rest of Steven’s response.
Reuters reported this morning that the Nokia E7 will be announced at Nokia World 2010 as the new flagship device from Nokia. They cited two sources with direct knowledge of Nokia’s plans. Reuters’ sources also shared that it will have a large touchscreen (how large???) and a full keyboard. Our guess is that the Nokia E7 is the leaked RM-626 phone.
The Wireless Industry Partnership is giving away 10 free developer passes for the Nokia Developer Summit. It is held in conjunction with Nokia World 2010 on September 14th-15th, so the passes (worth 700 Euros) will give you access to both events. To be eligible, you have to answer their question, “Why do you want to learn how to code in Qt at the Nokia Developer Summit?” You have until September 8th to respond.
