Ovi Store Interactive, Clickable Demos at Ovi Daily App

Did you know that Nokia are showcasing some of the best apps from Ovi Store through interactive, clickable demos at one of their official blogs, Ovi Daily App? The tutorials are based on DeviceAnywhere’s DemoAnywhere solution, which allows consumers to interact with apps on virtual mobile phones via the Internet. They gave me a demo while I was at CTIA.

Nokia’s Conspiracy for Good Heading to Television, Console Games & More Cities

Nokia is planning to bring Conspiracy For Good (CFG) to television, console games, and more cities according to Brian Seth Hurst. He’s the CEO of The Opportunity Management Company, a transmedia content firm that worked on the project. Heroes creator Tim Kring was also part of the social benefit entertainment pilot. They are already checking out new locations for the next chapter.

The New Pixelpipe Send & Share for Symbian is Now at the Ovi Store

I’ve been beta testing a new version of Pixelpipe for several weeks and I’m glad to finally see it at the Ovi Store! The new Pixelpipe now lets you upload photos, video, audio & files directly from the Nokia Send menu “via Pixelpipe” to over 110 services across the Social Web. It was previously done as a Nokia Share Online plugin. Watch the video after the jump to see how it works.

Nokia E73 Software Update 043.001

I’m not sure when it became available, but there’s a new firmware update 043.001 for the Nokia E73. @ActualAsianMale tweeted about it this evening and I had to check for myself. The device feels faster after the update, but I could also be imagining things. A changelog shows only an update to a browser security dialog.

TripAdvisor Now Available in Ovi Store and Ovi Maps

TripAdvisor, the world’s largest (and my favorite) travel site just announced a new partnership with Nokia that includes an app and an integration of the service into Ovi Maps. It launches today in select markets, with full global roll-out scheduled within a month.

Joikuspot for Nokia N900 Now Available at Ovi Store

Joikuspot, an app that lets you turn your device into a wifi hotspot is now available at the Ovi Store for the Nokia N900. The Maemo version came out of beta last March and has been ready for purchase and download at Joiku’s own site. Its presence in the Ovi Store now makes it even easier for users to download this great app.

Paid Apps For Nokia N900 Showing Up in Ovi Store Again

The Ovi Store (beta) for the Nokia N900 started selling paid apps again. So far, we notice the addition of Angry Birds level pack for $1.99 USD and QuickPanorama Pro for $2.99 USD. Let’s hope this gives an incentive for more developers come out with more apps.

Skype for Symbian Now Available at Nokia’s Ovi Store

Skype for Symbian is now downloadable for free from the Ovi Store according to the joint announcement on Wednesday. It will allow Nokia users worldwide to make free Skype-to-Skype calls and save money on calls and SMS to phones abroad. This is great for those who have an unlimited data plan.
