A week before CES, Qualcomm’s social media team reached out to see if I’d be interested to be one of their ambassadors. In exchange, they’d cover some of the expenses during the show. I’ve gone through so many smartphones in the past year and I’ve never really looked deeply into the tiny bits of technology inside the devices. All I really cared about was the was overall experience. After a quick Google search, I was surprised to find out that 100% of Windows Phone devices like the Nokia Lumia 710 and the Nokia Lumia 800 were using the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
I took a look at the Nokia Asha 200 during Nokia World. Nokia Asha 200 is Nokia’s latest dual SIM phone with Easy Swap functionality, allowing consumers to easily change their second SIM without switching the device off. Watch the video!
Nokia Lumia 710 hands-on preview from Nokia World 2011
Here’s a first look at the Nokia Lumia 710. The Nokia Lumia 710 features the same 1.4 GHz processor, hardware acceleration and graphics processor as the Nokia Lumia 800. The front is made up of mostly glass. The back can be personalized with exchangeable back covers.
I’ve snooped around and found some photos online that were uploaded from the Nokia Lumia 800. The word “Lumia” is included in the camera name within the photos’ EXIF information. I’ve found three photos so far that were uploaded this month.
Nokia has a network of 6 test centers around the world. We got to check out the one in San Diego last Monday. Every product goes through more than 200 different mechanical tests. Nokia showed us some of these tests. Video after the break.
The Scobleizer was walking through San Francisco Airport and then ran into Reno Marioni, director of global social partnerships at Nokia. Scoble said Marioni had a secret device in his briefcase but wouldn’t show it to him. Scoble did end up looking at a Nokia N9, which he thought was, “damn nice.”
Whether you like it or not, Nokia is focusing on Windows Phone. We’ll be blogging a lot more about this platform especially when the first Nokia Windows Phone devices come out. Here’s something interesting… Microsoft Taiwan has a teaser page for September 9th. It’s related to Windows Phone.

The Windows Phone Youtube channel recently published several walkthroughs for the Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) platform. You can expect this OS on upcoming Nokia devices.
