Nokia shows off nano technology at their Mobile World Congress booth. Water is dropped on a prototype phone with a superhydrophobic coating and it slides off to a surface with graphene based sensor. This is relevant to the mobile space in that it improves the water resistance and fingerprint resistance.

An anonymous tipster just sent us a promo ad of the Nokia Searay. It looks unsurprisingly like the Nokia N9. If this ad is real, it looks to be created by T-mobile Germany. I think this is the full image of that other recent leak.

Nokia Prototype Appears on Ebay, 12MP Camera with Xenon Flash

post thumbnail

A seller on eBay listed a fully functional Nokia N00 prototype for sale. It looks like a Nokia N86, but with 12 megapixel camera, xenon flash, and possibly a bigger screen. It seems to be running the same Symbian S60 OS as other Nokia’s non-touch devices. If this is a real prototype, I imagine Nokia buying the device to track down the seller and investigate how it was acquired.

It’s nowhere near production because it kept crashing. Since the hardware is pretty much what we’ll see when it comes out, this preview will be based on that.

Preview: Playing With the Nokia N95 Prototype

Thanks to Nokia for letting me play with a Nokia N95 prototype! The operating system in the version I used was still buggy, so I really can’t say anything about its functions. One noticeable bug was that the camera is upside down. However, I can share my first impressions of its form and appearance. I can look at the paper for the specifications, but holding it in my own hands gave me a better impression of the real thing.
