Nokia Lumia 800 Hidden Diagnostics Tool Demo

post thumbnail

The Nokia Lumia 800 has a hidden diagnostics tool that provides tests for troubleshooting potential issues in the device. The tests are not necessarily complete and do not substitute authorized service repair, but I thought it’d be cool to show how to get access.

Metrotube Demo on Nokia Lumia 800. Nice Youtube App for Windows Phone

post thumbnail

Here’s a demo of Metrotube on the Nokia Lumia 800. The official YouTube app for Windows Phone is ridiculous. As far as I can tell, it just opens the mobile Youtube website. Keep your eyes open for Metrotube, an alternative that shows how the official Youtube app should be. It’s currently in beta, but will be available in the marketplace soon.

Demo: Thumba Photo Editor is like Photoshop for Windows Phone

post thumbnail

I keep finding new things to love about Windows Phone on the Nokia Lumia 800. I really like the deep integration third-party apps can have with the core Windows Phone experience. For example, let’s take a look at the app called Thumba Photo Editor. After taking a photo with the camera, you can head to options then tap apps. This will send the photo directly to the app for some photo editing. For the end-user, this makes the third party app feel like a built-in feature.

Recap of Big Windows Phone and Night Party with Windows Phone

post thumbnail

The Windows Phone team definitely knows how to throw parties. Here’s a video recap of what happened on Monday. We checked out the big Windows Phone display at Herald Square in New York City on Monday. There was a performance by the Far East Movement. The giant Windows Phone was very functional. Live Tiles were moving and even received push notifications.

Demo: Bing Search on Windows Phone is Surprisingly Good

post thumbnail

I use Google to search the web, but Bing Search on Windows Phone is surprisingly good. To be more specific, the four options at the bottom of the app are actually fun to use. There’s location, music recognition, product scanner, and voice search. I made this video so you can see how it works before you get the Nokia Lumia 800 or Nokia Lumia 710.

Demo: SoundHound for Windows Phone

post thumbnail

SoundHound is another Windows Phone app I recommend. It’s free at the marketplace, so I suggest downloading it when you get the Nokia Lumia 800 or the Nokia Lumia 710. Here’s a video I shot to show you how SoundHound looks.

Demo: Rowi for Windows Phone, A Twitter App

post thumbnail

The Twitter integration in Windows Phone is great, but those who want more control should check out the Rowi application. I was told it’s the best Twitter app for Windows Phone. I don’t have a Nokia Windows Phone device for the demo, but I do have a Samsung Focus which will show how the app looks on the platform.

People Hub, My Favorite Windows Phone Feature

post thumbnail

I know this isn’t a Nokia device but it has the same Windows Phone 7.5 software as the Nokia Lumia 800. During Nokia World, I was able to play with the Nokia Lumia 800 but had to return it right away. For this demo, I’ll use the Samsung Focus that Klout provided. The first thing that truly amazed me was the social integration within Windows Phone.
