You May Hit Trouble on Your 6th Windows Phone Device
The cyan Nokia Lumia 800 I recently unboxed was my 6th Windows Phone device. How did I know? I was unable to download any apps from the Marketplace because of this error. It looks like we are only allowed to associate our Windows Live ID with 5 phones. If you don’t manually remove your previous phones from your account settings, you won’t be able to download new apps on your 6th phone.
Confirmed: Nokia Lumia 710 from Rogers Canada is Pentaband
Not only does Rogers Canada get the low price of about $250 outright for Nokia Lumia 710, but they also get a pentaband version. This means the phone will work on any 3G GSM network in the world once it is unlocked. HowardForums user, ali123, purchased one today from Rogers (850/1900MHz), got an unlock code, and started using it with WIND Mobile (1700MHz). Video after the jump.
Nokia EVP of Design Hints Wireless Charging for Future Nokia Lumia Devices
In an interview with The Guardian, Nokia’s Executive Vice President of Design, Marko Ahtisaari, hints that Nokia is considering devices with wireless charging. This system already exists in products such as the Palm Pre and the HP Touchpad, but I definitely would love to see it on Nokia devices.
Microsoft Paid Nokia $250M Last Quarter For Adopting Windows Phone, Billions More to Come
Nokia’s fourth quarter earnings was published earlier today. Here’s an interesting tidbit: Microsoft sent Nokia $250 million. According to Computer World, it was payment for Nokia to adopt Windows Phone. It was the first of many to come, expected to measure in the billions of US dollars.

4th & Mayor is currently the favorite Foursquare application for Windows Phone. I can’t believe I haven’t made a video for this before. Version 3.2 just came out with two new major features: restaurant menu and QR check-in. These features are not yet in the iPhone app so Windows Phone users get an exclusive experience! Bing Maps to Get Nokia Branding, Mapping on Nokia Windows Phone Gets Confusing
“You’ll starting seeing the word ‘Nokia’ on a map that you get from Microsoft properties over a period of time,” Elop explained to Pocket-lint. The CEO said this applies to Windows Phone devices using Bing and also Blackberry devices who recently said they were going to start using Bing Maps.
How to Force Update on the Nokia Lumia 800
The Nokia Lumia 800 update OS version 7.10.8107 became available for download today in some regions. If your device doesn’t automatically notify you, there’s a way to force the update. I’m not able to confirm this trick, but a few have reported that it works with a few attempts.

It’s an award-winning app that was ported from iOS that lets you take seamless panoramic photos straight from your phone. You can take up to sixteen photos, but I like to limit it to 3 or 4. Nokia Maps on Nokia Lumia 900 at 2012 CES
You’ve probably seen Nokia Maps before, but have you seen it on a Nokia Lumia 900? It was hard to actually play with a Nokia Lumia 900 at CES but I found a table at their booth that showed more than just the homescreen and the application list. Nokia’s location and commerce team were demonstrating mapping applications on the Nokia Lumia 900. This video shows off Nokia Maps.
