Nokia Introduces Voice Texting for Upcoming Windows Phone Devices
Chris Weber, president of Nokia USA, demonstrated a voice recognition technology to a crowd at the Center for Automotive Research’s Management Briefing Seminars earlier today. It will be introduced in their upcoming Windows Phone devices, allowing users to receive and send text messages verbally. It’s not clear whether he used an actual Nokia Windows Phone device for demonstration.
Nokia & Microsoft Party in Germany Aug 17th. Will We See Devices?
The Unwired reports of a party from Nokia and Microsoft in Cologne, Germany later this month. According the invitation, there will be a raffle to win Nokia devices with Windows Phone as soon as they are available. Could there be device announcements at this event? I love this latest leak from Nokia because it’s not the usual shaky blurry photo that we’re used to. Here we have a clear video of the Nokia Sea Ray prototype running Windows Phone 7. First Nokia Windows Phone Still on Track for 2011
Nokia CEO Stephen Elop has been telling everyone that the first Nokia device with Windows Phone is targeted for fourth quarter of 2011. The Holidays 2011 would be a key goal, he said in the D9 interview. This morning, the @Nokia account tweeted something that got us worried. They said shipment starts early next year! First Nokia Windows Phone Leaked on Video
This is too good to be a “leak.” The first video of a Nokia Windows phone just showed up . It has CEO Stephen Elop in it asking the audience to turn off their cameras and recording devices. The video comes from Technet which also had multiple cameras and direct feed access to the overhead display. Honestly, it looked produced by Nokia themselves. Take a look.
6 European Countries to Launch Nokia Windows Phones First
Victor Saeijs, Vice President of Nokia Europe, carries an early prototype of their first Windows Phone, but he can’t show it off yet. He told the audience at the 2011 Mobile Telecompaper conference they would launch the first handsets this year in Netherlands, France, Germany, UK, Spain and Italy. What a tease!

Nokia Connection 2011, Nokia’s Biggest Event of the Year
Mark your calendars! Nokia is planning their biggest event of the year on June 21st. The Nokia Connection 2011 website claims a solid strategy is in place and the event is where the new Nokia ecosystem will be introduced first-hand to the world. We’ll assume they’re going to show their first Nokia Windows Phones.
