Preview: Nokia N96 Specifications Leaked
February 7th, 2008 • Mark Guim • Filed Under
The Nokia N96 specifications have been leaked at the Nokia Germany site. It’s got some really interesting features, but I’m iffy about the small battery, 950 mah reminiscent of the poor battery life on the original Nokia N95. Is this the next Nokia flagship? I translated the page to english and list the features here.

Thoughts
I’m surprised at the built-in 16gb plus a memory card slot. I’m also surprised at the DVB-H support for live TV. The 2.8 inch screen is great, but I’m still wondering if this will be the next Nokia flagship. What do you think?

caliboy99 on 7 February 2008:
All that multimedia power but such a weak battery! Here we go again, i think ill wait till they come out with the -4 version. But it does have flagship qualities, lets hope it makes it out before the tui specs are leaked.
James @ Nokia Creative on 8 February 2008:
Hi Mark… Do you know if DVB-H is widely available yet?
ladiko on 8 February 2008:
no xenon-flash =(
ARJW on 8 February 2008:
Wow, niec leak, and great specs. Too bad there’s no US 3G, anemic battery, and the DVB-H isn’t technically on in the US. Other than that though, wow. A very impressive offering on Nokia’s side.
They shouldn’t piss of Germans though; this one seems spitful more than anything else.
Mark Guim on 8 February 2008:
@James No DVB-H here in the US. This seems like the N92 update.
Tom on 8 February 2008:
Not super impressed. I was hoping for a 6 or 7mp camera, and a bigger battery.
I’ll probably buy one anyway.
Sri on 8 February 2008:
We need all these features + Xenon flash + Better Battery in candy bar. Slide is stylish. But, problem comes when we keep in pocket.:)
Hannu on 10 February 2008:
Its great to be finnish! Go Nokia!
headshot on 13 February 2008:
bulky. but hey, with all those specs, this will surely be the next nokia flagship phone
jj on 18 February 2008:
yo guys i think nokia should make a touchscreen editon of this phone.yes with a better battery and zoom for the camera and also with 3d accelerometer.
dan on 13 March 2008:
Again the battery problem!I already have problems with N95!I think Nokia will solve that before N96 comes out.Maybe touch screen would be good as well?I think that would be perfect for such a perfect phone.Go Nokia!
merd on 10 April 2008:
ARJW has it right. needs the xenon. i saw your vid on youtube. big difference… why skip on features like this when it has all the other bells and whistles. its like getting an ice cream sundae with no nuts on top. yeah its got whipped cream, but its deluxe with the nuts.
i am in the US also, so the 3G is important to me unfortunately. i need to switch from tmobile
but their plans are more reasonable. would like to use the wifi and see what the dTv is like also. thanks for the stuffs!
Mark Guim on 11 April 2008:
@merd there’s a rumor xenon will be added to the Nokia N96. I hope it’s true.
