Nokia 5800 NAM Pre-Order On Nokia USA For $339
We were first to tell you about the Nokia 5800 NAM being available around Feb. 26th at the price of $399 and we were right. Nokia USA site just made the 5800 available for pre-order with the suggested price, however they have coupons that let you get it discounted down to only $339!

It seems that if you order one, you will automatically get a 10% discount in the cart bringing it down to $359. Get 2, and you will get 15% discount bringing it down to only $339. If I were you, find a friend who also wants the phone and split the cost to take advantage of the deal.
I’m not sure when this coupon will expire, but I guarantee you that we will not see many other retailers offer the Nokia 5800 at the $339 price point because that is only a couple of dollars away from the retailers’ wholesale price.

Stephen on 14 February 2009:
I happen to see the pre-order this morning. $359 plus shipping is still hard to justify right now. I really want At&t to just pick up the phone and offer a subsidy.

[...] Nokia USA now taking pre-orders for 5800 XpressMusic There are already plenty of ways to get an American E63, so don’t pay too much attention to the phone on the left here — but the 5800 XpressMusic… well, that’s another story altogether. As rumored, the version of the S60 5th Edition handset with North American 3G is running $399 — though a promotion on the Nokia site knocks 10 percent off of that right from the get-go. No ship date is listed (we’re still hoping to see it later this month), so fair warning: all you’ll really be doing here is getting in line and hoping that nothing at MWC this week cools you to the 5800’s wiles. Sloan Bowman on 15 February 2009:
The real question is do you go on and fork out the cash for the 5800 or do you wait on the N97? Assuming the N97 will be US ready in lets say 4 months or so. I have a N96 and let me tell you I’m thinking about trading down to the 5800 because the N96 is just not working for me. I will however really miss the camera and video features of the high end N-series. Your thoughts?

well, i think it’s ok for my budget, cuz i don’t use the camera as my first capture device (i’ve a panasonic lumix), only for occassional shots, so it wouldn’t be a problem for me. Gps,touchscreen,great sound,compact desing, 8 gb (expandable), and a regular camera (hope to get better with firmware updates) all the things I need in one device, for a confortable price. The only thing that stops me for get it it’s that in nokiausa shop, doesn’t specify which color they are offering, I want it blue but there’s no description about it.
pavan on 15 February 2009:
can someone tell me whether it supports t-mobile 3G in US
Mark Guim on 15 February 2009:
sorry, no tmo 3G support in US.
Sloan Bowman on 15 February 2009:
@Bob, If I had to guess what color they were to be shipping I would guess the red model. All of the ads on the Nokia USA site show the red model for the most part. Kinda strange they don’t give you the option though. Typical Nokia style.
Bob on 15 February 2009:
is weird, note that in the E71 they show you which one to choose. i want the blue one

@Bob, sorry, E63 i mean

@Bob, When I phone the nokia store, the rep said it could be whichever color shows up their warehouse. As I was pre-ordering, the web chat popped up and the guy said it’s most likely the silver/black version. Est shipping date is end of Feb.
Bob on 18 February 2009:
@minidoug, thanks for ur reply!! i guess i had to call to let them clear which color i want..i haven’t seen yet the black silver version on any review or pictures
EJC on 19 February 2009:
@Stephen, I recently started service with AT&T because of the 3G since I’m waiting for the 5800 to come out; I was given a loner Blackberry to use until then, and guess what? Because I’m not buying a phone directly from AT&T, they didn’t force me to sign a contract; basically they’re just providing me with their service, and I can leave anytime I want. Go figure! I’ve never signed contracts b4 with any carrier, and don’t intend to; that’s what I like about Europe, and too bad we still aren’t that “open” here.
Stephen on 20 February 2009:
@EJC, If I understand you correctly you are saying that AT&T is anticipating the 5800 or they are just being nice and letting you take a loner on the idea that if the 5800 comes to AT&T you’ll be able to switch?
Matty on 20 February 2009:
I preordered mine the day it was available. Called them tonight to see if they had any clue as to when it would ship & they didn’t know. The rep did tell me that they only have 500 orders for it. Hopefully it will ship before then end of the month! Also, the rep said it will probably come in black since there wasn’t a color choice.
EJC on 23 February 2009:
@Stephen, the Nokia 5800 will be sold unlocked, so AT&T will not pick it up; they’re just being nice because I started service with them, and I explained to them that I was going to buy an unlocked phone on my own, and not any phone through them. Once I get the Nokia 5800 in my hands, I’ll just swap the SIM card and return the loner Blackberry back.
Parth on 24 February 2009:
I pre-ordered one 5800 from nokia site and luckily i got a discount and total was $359.
I chated with the sales person online they said they only black color available for this model so BLACK final..
Parth on 24 February 2009:
i am sure that will be unlocked i can give you guarantee..LOL
Parth on 24 February 2009:

Matt C on 26 February 2009:
@Mark Guim,
I spoke to the T-Mobile Service Rep on the phone today and they said the the 3G services will work on T-Mobile.
Mark Guim on 26 February 2009:
call another rep because the one you spoke to made a mistake. 5800 NAM will not work with T-mo’s 3G, but will work on their slower EDGE data connection

anyone else notice that Nokiausa has price cuts, even on the pre-orders? You won’t see it until you add it to your cart, but the E75, E63 and 5800 are cheaper than initially advertised. The E75 is $479, the E63 is $249 and the 5800 is $359
vik on 28 February 2009:
@Stephen,
