Nokia N86 Photo and Video Samples From Finland

The Nokia N86 is set up to become the next cameraphone flagship to replace the Nokia N82. That makes me curious of the photo and videos quality. Some people have already been testing the device before it hits public and uploading content online. Let’s check out some of the results from their Nokia N86 prototypes.

Photos

The photos below were all taken in Finland from Flickr user Mourujärvi. Not 100% sure, but he/she probably works at Nokia.

Growing on Me

I particularly like the photos taken with the Nokia N86. The colors look fine, missing the cursed purple or green tint. I also don’t notice grainy particles on the resized photos with my monitor.

I already have my eyes set on the Nokia N97, but this device is slowly growing on me! What do you think? Nokia N86 or Nokia N97?

    N86, the N97 is fucking buggy!

  • I like the photo samples taken with the Nokia N86. This seems to be a super and smart phone to me. :-)
  • I prefer the Nokia N86... it's a fantastic cameraphone, yeah. It has functions like a reflex! Wonderful... I like N97, but I want remplace my N95 with an amazing phone... oh, the choiche is very hard!

    ((sorry for my english, I'm an Italian user!))

    There not been many phones released in 2009 that have made me considering upgrading from my Nokia N95 8gb,so i am dying for the N86 to be released,in the u.k they say it should be available in June/July so will keep waiting till the Top class camera mobile will be released,then Nokias sales will easily get boosted more as we have the N86,N97 an 6700 coming out soon
  • Andrew
    Have you people not seen the n86 flash pictures on AAS? Although, yes, the 3rd gen DLED does match the xenon in brightness, there's still a blue tint much like the N95. Also, because of the wide angle lens, the flash is still insufficient to illuminate it's target unless VERY close.
    I still think Nokia should have gone with Xenon. As a result, even though the N86 will be released soon, I'm going to buy an N82.
  • flash will not be use always
  • I agree with Clinton Jeff, surely missed an opportunity here, it almost seems like they're allergic to xenon, after all wasn't the N82 a successful unit as far as units sold, c'mon Nokia tighten up and give us what we want, Xenon 8mp, and FP2, is that really that unrealistic.
  • N86 8mp will be the best 8mp camera phone for 2009.. luckily, n86 just won an award from TIPA for the best mobile imaging for 2009.

    n86 8mp -- 3rd gen Dled... many people dont know the capacity of 3rd gen dled that it can match xenon..

    3rd gen dled
    * 3.5 m flash light range
    * 4.5/5 for camera flash(picture)
    * 5/5 for video light
    * wide resolution/ best aperture
    * best sport camera support
    etc..

    sorry n97 but ur just a very expensive phone with a downgrade on camera for a flagship...but u have a great design

    While 3rd gen LED's might match a Xenon in brightness, which I some how doubt, I don't think they can match Xenon in terms of speed.

    So, can these 3rd gen LED's freeze a spinning highspeed fan in low light? My Samsung G810 can. And, the N82 probably can also.

    I'm so disappointed. Why can't Nokia just come out with an N82 follow-up? I want to buy a new phone. I've had my N82 for years. But the only candidates are the N97 and the N86, and neither has Xenon. Yes, I COULD buy a digital camera, but I want to be able to carry around just one device. I don't even need an 8MP camera. If the N97 had exactly the N82's camera, I'd be thrilled. I'd be more than prepared to shell out the dough for that on the spot!
  • the n86 8mp 3rd gen dled flash is a super flash..that can even match the xenon..so

    3rd gen dled flash ----- 4.5/5 picture ------ 5/5 video

    xenon ---------------------5/5pture--------------2/5 video

    3.5m is the max light distance for n86...3.5m is much the above average distance for taking pictures...i luv this phone and i will try my best to buy this...i hate n97...its a downgrade in camera...very sad for n97..

    n97 --- expensive but great design

    I just hope the n86 pics are not extremely compressed like the n82 pics. It wouldn't surprise me if the image size is as much as n82 because n82 and n73 have pretty much even image size.
  • Paul
    I would go N97 and with that, cheap 5-8mpix, 3xoptical zoom, standalone camera :) Not sure what are the prices in the US.
  • Im waiting this phone so much!!!
    bought a wrong version of N96 and im so sad bout that!!!
    i really want change my phone and get a N86!!
    i go for it!
  • me too.
  • worldofnokia
    this is a question that is bugging me. i went from wanting the N86 to the N97 but now im back to the N86 because im a camera phone fan and the 8mp will be awesome
  • Nooo I am spending my money on the N97, the N85 is the same N85. But I guess that if you are a camera freak the N86 will be the better.
  • N82 Forevaaa !
    Seems like a missed opportunity with them not sticking a xenon Flash on that thing.
  • Yeah I'm still waiting to see some realistic low-light samples taken with the n86. these pics do look great though.
